I don't know if this is right but- Half Magic by Edward Eager (or one of the books in that series) is a children’s book/ novella thing about kids who have rather drab lives and end up finding a magic coin and having adventures and whatnot and it goes on and on. Anyhow- their mother finds the magic coin (or something) and wishes she was in the circus and anyhow the bottom line is that she ends up on a trapeze at the circus yelling "Hoopla."
