| Ryan Adams – When the Stars Go Blue Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This song is a party in West Texas, with old friends and Shiner Bock beer. It's driving a pickup truck alone late at night, thinking about someone special. It's sitting on a roof in scuffed cowboy boots smoking cigarettes and watching the moon come up. It's the summer I was sixteen. |

| Oasis – Rock 'n' Roll Star Lyrics | 20 years ago |

And God said, let there be Oasis. Liam and Noel swaggered into existence. They were rock 'n' roll stars. Yea, they were cocky, brilliant superstars. And the Lord saw that it was good. Nay, it was RAD. |

I think it was the first line of this song that caught my attention as I was in a coma of Oasis-induced bliss while listening to Morning Glory for the first time... "Here's a thought for every man who tried to understand what's in his hands" I think the song is a semi-autobiographical account of a rock star - he's given this amazing talent that he doesn't really understand, but does his best, then ultimately, he loses his soul. Beautifully tragic...unusually melancholy. |

| Blur – Crazy Beat Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This is essence de Britpop. It's catchy, danceable, and even if you're not a fan of the band or the genre, you'll find yourself singing along or at least bopping your head. I personally think it's bril. | |

I've noticed that most of the compliments and the criticisms of this songs are the same observation. People who don't like it say it "sounds the same as every Oasis song". People who like it say it's "a classic Oasis song". You're all saying the same thing, in different ways. I'm pretty sure it boils down to: People who like Oasis like this song. People who don't like Oasis...don't. |
