| Ben Howard – Bones Lyrics | 12 years ago |
It's about his ex that used to cheat on him and took for granted that he would stay with her regardless of her actions. The chorus is sarcastic, there's no hope in their story. Despite his deep love for her, he asks her to leave because she can never change, it's in her bones. |

| Deftones – Change (In the House of Flies) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I always thought that it was about the sadistic pleasure of ruining a person emotionally, just for the fun of it, because you can. But in the light of recent events in my life, I feel that this is about the narrator fighting with himself. It's about metamorphosis, from the larvae to the winged stage, from crawling on the ground to flying in the sky. Or moving forward in life, becoming a better person. But there's this part of you, the self-destructive one (the narrator) -afraid of what might be- that mocks the change and tries to bring you back to your old habits, to the ground. In the end, you accept the transformation and blow the old you away. |

| The Wallflowers – Josephine Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I gave the pedo theory a little thought and I don't think it's plausible. The overall tone of the song is of gratitude and tenderness. (the sleeping on the floor bit is non sexual) The cuts are metaphorical of course, implying he has suffered. He's a drifter who has lost everything and is praising this sweet girl who warmed his heart. Josephine became his anchor. He offers to make her ribbons from paper bags because he has nothing else to give. |

I might be mistaken but the correct lyrics are: "Quit being a nail in my coffin." |

| A Perfect Circle – Blue Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I don't know if anyone here heard about the french rock band lead singer (NOIR DESIR) who a couple of years ago killed his grilfriend after a violent fight (he beat her to death). Well for me this song will always be about that moment, he kills her but refuses to accept the fact so he just sits and stares at her body turning blue (which is what he did in real life sad story but great song...). |

| Placebo – Protect Me From What I Want Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I think it's about the absudity of modern life. We all engage in different addictions but in the end our lives remain empty and worthless. The "protect me from what i want" stands for protect me from my desire to die. He feels so alone and stuck in a cycle he can't leave that he can only wish for death... |
