| Soundgarden – Let Me Drown Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| These lyrics are slightly off. But still, this is a nice starting piece to a kick-ass collection of grunge. | |
| Midnight Oil – Minutes To Midnight Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| He speaks of the rapture. At least that's what I see... | |

| A Perfect Circle – Let's Have A War Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Just from looking at you people speak, Lee Ving was pure genious. If you didn't put all the elements of the song together, hell yeah it's offensive, but once you get everything together, the song is in fact a depiction of civil unrest in America. And you can see this in the line "The enemy's within!", as in, WE are the enemy. Any suburban kid who hears this song and takes it to heart is an enemy as well. And we all know what our government does to enemies... |

| Stone Sour – Sillyworld Lyrics | 19 years ago |

It's all sarcasm in my opinion. When he says to shove those fingers up your ass, I don't think he really meant it as such. It's like Tool's Stinkfist or Prison Sex. Cruel topic with loads of interpretation. Don't get me wrong now, this ain't no Tool song but still... Ah fuck it. All in all it's like... APC's cover of John Lennon's Imagine. All the emotuion is drained from the song, sung to the tune of a nazi-like piano chord. It enhances the "We've fucked up" aspect of the song. And in truth, we have fucked up. We have to take this seriously, and make songs like these a thing of the past... Oh, there's something there... "Love is just a song today Love is just a song When someone takes the song away You'll seldom sing along So take those lyrics serious and sing your life away and carry on but don't write 'em down or they'll be gone" Criticism for those that sing this song and others covering similar topics, but doing nothing at all to cause change for the better. |

| Tool – Prison Sex Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Anybody here mentioned the word "Vestal" is usually refered to the female sex? Also, the doll in the video looks gender-neutral, but to me, if you look closely, its body structure suggests this is a female character, with the smooth, flowing lines on it and such. Also, WTF is up with the legs moving even though they're cetached from the doll's body? I know they struggle... Aha, I see it now. Children are encouraged and taught to kick ad their majoy defense against a bigger, more intimidating perp. |

| Three Days Grace – Animal I Have Become Lyrics | 19 years ago |

For some odd reason I heard "No one will ever change the shadow where light has become" I now see I was wrong... but it would make for a great lyric otherwise |
|
| A Perfect Circle – Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| If you see the video, you'll see mock war posters, bush and his television addresses, and that same ticker in the bottom in the english language, ending up in the german language at the very end, and for the most part comparing George Bush to Adolf HItler | |

| Blog site, sorry about that typo. | |
| Buckcherry – Crazy Bitch Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| N0 C0DE always has problems. If he doesn't want other people to listen to this song, he should build himself a blog sidte and just say it there, not that anybody would be looking at it anyhow... | |

How would you know what sex that user may be? But, I must agree, this song blows chunks. I skip over it everytime I start to hear it in Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix. Sorry for those who like it, but I shudder everytime I think of the women shaking their booties to this disrespectful song. |

| Filter – Hey Man, Nice Shot Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I want to correct a line, making a little more sense of that anecdote. "I can collect this info, do my own research, find MY answers and be contempt with what I see, instead of being complacent... and lazy... and stupid..." Should be: I can collect this info, do my own research, seek MY own answers and be contempt with what I find, instead of being complacent... and lazy... and stupid... Sorry, I was tired... |

Couldn't you take that conversation to a more private place Toolshed? I wholeheartedly agree with the comments of James W. but I also agree with what you have to say. You see, many people can interpret songs in many different ways. I am so sick and tired of the meaning wars and the flame posts around here. I would LOVE it if arguments were taken to a metaphorical back room of sorts where we don't have to read it. Just make your point, butch, complain, in private while we all try to enlighten ourselves by spitting out meanings that we as a whole can use to make sense of a song we like to listen to. Furthermore, it doesn't really have to be an artist interpretation, but comments can be more along the likes of opinion, not fact, and the viewer of this page cad either agree or disagree with what that person said. With that anecdote in hand, I have this to say. JUST MAKE YOUR POINT. Don't bitch and argue all day convincing the world you're right. For all I'm concern, you're all right in one way or another (except for the dude that insulted Kurt, that was just plain nasty)! Now as a viewer I can collect this info, do my own research, find MY answers and be contempt with what I see, instead of being complacent... and lazy... and stupid... |

...For those that missed the social drivel that is SongMeanings (mostly those that like to read last comment only) Ya just missed a grand example of it. I know SOADRULES bashed Iron Maiden and our creator but c'mon, talking smack back to him just makes you Maiden fans and SongMeanings as a whole look bad. I listen to Iron Maiden. Not to mention I thoroughly enjoy System as well. If less people had a musical bias, not only would this website be a better place, but if we apply these lifelong morels outside the website, we can make the world a better place. WIth lots of thanks, member #00001 of the Society for Improved Website Design, Development and Netizen Morale |

| So true. Would third funkiest be Rick James? LOL | |
| Bloc Party – Like Eating Glass Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I can see and totally agree with outofline's Crystal Meth theory. Actually, the way he described it, all fits together like a puzzle. Then again, this song has as many meanings as a good Nirvana song. The sound of the beat I really don't prefer, because it kinda sounds drowned out, but then again, that might just be another part of the Meth theory, because everything sounds like shit when you're high on that nasty. | |

| Mike V and the Rats – Vendetta Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The meaning is right in your face too. He's tired of all the bullshit in his life, and the thought of vengence is the only thing that keeps him going. | |
| The Adolescents – Who Is Who Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Dropkick Murphys do a great rendentition of this song. | |
| Public Enemy – Burn Hollywood Burn Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Ain't the meaning quite obvious? It's a bunch of black people wanting to burn hollywood for roles portraying racial discrimination. | |
| A Perfect Circle – Let's Have A War Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Not only does APC cover this song, From Autumn to Ashes (a band not many here might have heard of) also covers this song. | |
| Dead Kennedys – MTV - Get Off The Air Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Sorry to sound hy;per-hypocritical back there, I just wanted to show you (how do you say it? Oh) DUMBASS POSER RETARDS have been doing for the last nth post. BTW, paragraph two sentence two of my last comment is pretty damn well true. | |

Guys, guys, guys, we're simply manipulating ourselves with our own opinion. You call yourslves punk? Then shut the fuck up and stop trying to convert people to YOUR opinion of punk. Stop conforming to other people's opinion. Simple as that. Punk is about pure anarchy and chaos in a sense. Nobody follows, everybody be different. If everybody blazed their own trail, big businesses will fall, value of money will be almost nothing, and you wouldn't be typing your opinion on your $1000 computers right now. Think of what you already have and how it came to be before you start bitching about big business. Some of you wouldn't know half of the bands you listen to without the (very corrupt IMO) media anyhow. I believe I'v said enough to make my point, let the hypocritical bitching about ME begin... |

| A Perfect Circle – Let's Have A War Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I have not heard the APC version yet, but I'm sure it rocks. The Fear varsion kicks pure ass as well. | |
| Fear – Let's Have A War Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I thought I heard that too. Well, the damn meaning of this song is obvious, the ulterier motive of war in this song is money and population control | |
