This song is definitely about returning from touring...but I can relate to it more as a college student. I went to school across the country from where I lived before graduating high school. Returning home and seeing old friends is really weird, like this chapter of my life has ended and i don't really belong here anymore. I especially relate to the part: "So we stand here now and no one knows us at all I won't get used to this I won't get used to being gone And going back won't be the same if we aren't staying Going back to get away after everything has changed" |

i agree, but i have a slight different take about the end... the part where it talks about her not telling anybody else means to me that she kept it all inside and didn't tell anyone, but the singer of the song somehow knew what was wrong the ending about killing the person is more the singer speaking to the men who did this. he wants to teach them a lesson about how what they did was wrong and they need to be punished for hurting the girl. |
