| Modest Mouse – People as Places as People Lyrics

I think it's pretty simple. This song is about not having regrets. Why? Because we were the people that we wanted to know, as in we did what we wanted to do, we did what we chose to do, so theres no point in regreting anything. |

and the things that kill in the bars is definately referring to STDs such as AIDS and stuff, and his friend is calling him out on the fact that he sleeps around by saying that he should already have learned that. which basically supports that this song has to do with just finding one person to love and be steady with |

I think the meaning of this song is summed up in the final stanza about a good luck charm that is supposed to bring love but they don't know if its true. you see, he hints at a little bit longing for someone that he cares about able to be with because he is traveling around in his band and doing a bunch of drugs and stuff. and b/c he isn't able to be around her he is hoping to find somebody else that he loves, but the search isn't going so well and i think that he kind of just misses whoever he used to be with. |

| Modest Mouse – 3rd Planet Lyrics

First off I must say that this is one of the very few songs that actually gets better the more that I listen to it. I appreciate it more as I get older. I think this song covers a good three or four different subjects such as love, reproduction, alien life forms, physics, and basically whatever else you can think and connect. I think Isaac was absolutely tripping out on life, kind of a "high on life" moment when he thought of these lyrics, kind of an existential realization. He's basically saying we're chilling here on this 3rd planet away from the sun and for some reason we are alive and we love each other and reproduce with whoever we love. And I think he kinda wonders if other creatures have the same emotions. I'll just say it's an extremely deep song. |

I think the whole "not the sun" lyric is the singer trying to convince himself that she is not the only one and that his whole life doesnt revolve around her (the sun). Yet she is the sun to him and theres nothing he can really do about it b/c he is in love i guess |

I know Underoath is a Christian band and all, but that does not mean every one of their songs is directly about God. I just think this song is simply about a girl that he really likes. |

this song uses snow to describe how he wants to cover up and hide his past much like snow covers up footprints. he wants to cover up the path that he has taken. i dont know why he would do that b/c the band is one of the best ever. whatever. he is probably refering to his drug usage |

I believe that it is about looking back on life and being flooded with memories of good times. Then you find yourself thinking, I cant believe that people would be able to die without fully enjoying life. |
