I think, well, it's an ode to maybe--in a good way. Think about it...its like sitting in class, and thinking to yourself, 'well maybe i can go over to that girl and start talking to her.' It's just an ode to that possibilty. Further into the song, he's actually in that relationship it seems, and he still is making decisions, and he enjoys it. i really like the song, but have never really stopped and listened to the lyrics, so this is what i first make of it. |

the cage, its not like i dont want to see this song succeed, i like it a lot, i just think it could be a lot better. when i first here the beginning of the song it sounds great, but i guess i just think the chorus kind of drags on a little and doesnt really do too much for me--its one frickin chord for a few measures. still a good song though |

OK, I might be talking to the wrong generation, but a few years back when I was playing Grand Theft Auto (GTA3 I think), i think i heard this song on the soudtrack for the game when you are driving around shooting people, running them over, or just simply picking up a prostitute. so can anyone tell me that this is the song on that game? |

well, to be honest, michael hutchense's lyrics have never been very inspiring to me, but thats fine, because he still has a good voice, and the music is great (like Beautiful Girl) But, it looks like we don't have too many INXS fans on songmeanings...oh well |

yea, pretty much i think this song has a few double-meanings: love, and sex. a line like "you need a love that's gonna last" probably deals with an actual relationship, whereas the line "have you got enough gas?" is pretty sexual. anyway, thats how i think of it--a song that deals with sex, and at the same time about how a girl should kind of 'settle down.' |
