Well, the first person to attempt some interpretation of the song...so here goes.. I think this song is about a guy who is in love and awe of a lady. But for whatever reasons, he is unable to have her. He has tried, but gave up. The guy is holding on to memories of her, in reminisce, the world seems so much better. Without the thoughts of her, life is dull. Later on in the song, it comes to attention that perhaps the love is mutual, but for a reason they cannot be together. The guy is holding on to his love, and waits for the day they can be together. |

| When he mentions "Fate", I like to think he has kind of two meanings, two symbolisms for that one word. "Fate" could be considered the girl itself, or that he conidered it fate that brought them together at the beginning. He doesn't like "fate" because it left him alone and heartbroken | |
