hmm... can i safely say that everyone here hates guevaralives? ok, just wanted to clear that one up (teenybopper dicks?! get the fuck out dude, we know who the queens of the stone age are, you dont need to lecture us). also, grohl isnt the best drummer in the world, but he is damn good and he does have a real intensity to his drumming that a lot of other drummers dont have. i dont think it really matters what teen people says about whether its his band or not. we all know its not "his" band. what i can say though is that his drumming contributed a lot to the album. about the meaning of this song, i think its just about a wasted life, like spending years of your life partying and screwing off, and then having to suffer the consequences. this is the point when hes realizing how much hes screwed up. i guess in a way im also just kind of reiterating what moe2000 said in that its just about him living for himself and now the shit is hitting the fan. |

ah, dude2003, i think qotsas cool for exactly the opposite reason. i think theyre cool because they dont spend so much time trying to make their songs deep and meaningful and all that, they just say whatever the hell comes to their minds and then put it on top of some awesome music. just pure, no bullshit metal. no gimmicks or anything, they just rock the fuck out, and i think thats what this song is, just in this song, theyre rocking especially hard! |

its really weird, they seem to throw this song in a lot of places. like ya, theres the one on songs for the deaf where the lyrics are just laughing, and then theres another little snippet at the end of in the fade. weird. i think everyone heres reading way too deep into this song. i think its just qotsa being bizarre like usual. no real message, i think they just wanted to fuck with people, and what better way than to make a song in which all the lyrics are drugs? pure awesome... twenty-three skidoo! |

firstly, guevaralives, why do you have to start a fight on every damn song?! get a life! secondly, guevara does not live, and thirdly, this song kicks ass. i just like the feel of it, you know, like its really choppy and yet kind of rolling, like driving really fast through the desert in a car thats on fire.... or something... eh, thats just my interpretation - the songs about a flaming car racing through the desert. hahahahaha! well, twenty-three skidoo, everyone! |

hahaha! the birth of doom metal vocals! hell yeah. this song is just awesome. i honestly dont think its about anything deep like the soviet union or what have you, although the whole john entwhistle getting drunk and rambling about arachnophobia sounds pretty believable. ya, i think more bands need to do songs like that. you know, just with no meaning, just awesome. or maybe they do and we just overanalyze them.... who knows...? |
