xmod almost has it, but i think it's talking through the voice of a solider in the army. This is a person who believes in his country, but he doesn't think enough people do and they just sit around mutipling and waiting for someone to fight war for them. Then he really see's how war has made him go crazy when he gets back from fighting (the last verse.) I love this fuckin song. If i'm stressed out some times iI'll just scream the last verse as loud as I can, it's a good outlet for anger. |

I see it like this. Christanity says that if you do not accept jesus into your heart before you die then you go to hell. I think it's say what is the point of believing that? because there are good people who might not be christian but the bible says when they die they go to hell anyway. In the second verse he's just saying people just want to live thier lives, so why does religion intrude? That's my take. Amazing song. |

| Nirvana – Plateau Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I think it's about goals in life. (Cleaning) The plateau symbolizes (Completion of) a goal. The bucket and the mop are the only thing on the top, so you know what you have to do. The Birds are the obsticles of your goal. I don't think he's being ironic when he says "who needs action when you got words." I think it's part of the messege of the song because later on it says you look for another plateau, but when you look at it in the end all you've done is clean the plateau, and there will always be another goal. So what's the point of cleaning it in the first place? That's just what I think, And I think this was a different meaning from the meat puppets version. |

I think he is talking about people in general. Like he describing the evil that everyone experinces at sometime in their life. Bad ass song, I love the riff at "Don't laugh at my jokes." |

| Incubus – Megalomaniac Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| It's just about people who have power. HE's trying to say that people who obtain power want one more thing... more power and they believe their helping people, but the point is no one person can have all the power because their will always be someone who doesn't agree and will revolt (hence the line "If I met you in a scissor fight, I'd cut off both your wings.") Great song, I love yelling to the chorus In the car or when no one's at my house. | |
| Incubus – Pardon Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I love this song man. For some reason I feel a conection to the lyrics. I love the line "And the perils of being in 3D, but thinking so much differently." because It seems I think so much different then the masses, And sometimes I think pretty much everyone is so ignorant I could just burst into flames. I can relate to this song so much. Amazing song, Definatly my Favorite Incubus song. | |
| Incubus – Talk Shows on Mute Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I think it's pretty appearent that this song is about media control of America. 1984 is a great book and reading it makes this songs meaning very clear. I don't think it's in anyway about bush, and even though I think bush is an asshole I'm fucking sick of everyone talking like bush is the whole reason for everything bad that happens. Our whole government is corrupt. It's not like bush has complete and total power over everyone. He doesn't make all the desisions. Hasn't anyone heard of the seperation of powers? The point is our whole government is a bunch of power hungry asshole that blind you to believe your free. Although I think the song is not about bush, I do believe it's political, for you can't say it's about media without saying government is involved, because they do control the media and what we can and can't watch. I interpreted the line "Pack on powder" differently, as comparing cocaine addiction to the addiction of TV. The line "chemical comfort of america" backs this up, b ut I aslo agree with what others said about this line. When I first heard this song, the lyrics reminded me of the System of a Down song called "Spiders" because it seems they're both about being brainwashed by the media. I notice everytime I turn on the TV (which is almost never) that there is some sort of messege it's trying to get me to believe, wether it be commercials or shows. Anyway, I thinks it's a great song that kinda protrays what I was already thinking. |

To put an end to this arguement. Why don't you all just Shut the Fuck Up and post your interpretations of the song. If I wanted to Listen to you fucktards bitch and moan about your religious shit then I'd go back to high school. Anyway, I agree with arkhaic in the interpretation of the first verse (and i also agree that the riff at "an ill wind" Totally kicks anyones ass. I love the line "Petty is a petty does, Witness the mass disgrace." refering to the population believing george bush and his lies. The rest of the song kinda follows this, saying that soliders die for lies nowadays. |

| I never said that's what Randy intened the lyrics to be, but it's still the way I interpret them. It makes more sense logically then the military reference anyway. | |
| Norma Jean – Memphis Will Be Laid To Rest Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| It's funny. Oviously (since they're a christian band) this song means to praise jesus, but if you look at the lyrics from the other end then it could be talking about jesus as the murderer. I diplay this point, and belive it makes more sense because "medocricy" is being christian in America. Then at the end, it supports my interpretation as well. I found that kinda funny that they're lyrics can backfire on them. There just isn't room for "christ" in metal, sorry guys. Anyway the members of this band are great musicians, even if their moral ideas are misguided. | |
| Norma Jean – Bayonetwork: Vultures In Vivid Color Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Dude these guys are great musicians, I don't how you could even remotely say that ther not. Anyway, I don't agree with the messege of the lyrics they intended, but I love the riffs, especially the riff in the chorus. | |

Everyone has only seen one meaning. A lot of people seem to think all of Lamb of God's songs are about politics, and most are. But most also are sacreligious, and that's what Is fucking awesome about Randy's lyrics. This song is not just about military it is also about Christanity. "The knowelge that seeking the favor of another, means the murder of self," refers to christians looking to jesus to 'save' them from damnation, and the never understand themselfs. The whole chorus is about christianity, saying that it is the "resolution" to not knowing about ourselfs and looking for an answer, but at the same time it ends eacj indivuals progress in life, and is killing evolution because religious people don't rely on themselfs. "It bleeds all life away" fits with this. Second verse, Saying that religious people remain silent because they have "a stream of solice that runs few and narrow" (christ, and there arn't many "martyrs") And "faith" hides people from the fact that the world is not a perfect place and there is torture. And the outro I love. It is speaking though jesus. Saying christianity has mastered placing fear in people, causing pain to people who do not agree, hatred to people who can deal with problems without a "god" to look up to, and the power of CONTROLING the nation. Christianty is false hope and therefor, The art of Ruin. I also agree with the military refrence, but I want people to understand that Randy is talking about both. Don't be afrid to turn the cross over |||| |||| |||| |||| ||||||||| ||||||||| |||| |||| |
