this song gets me every time. got to say, it's made me cry more than once. it's about a lost love, one with lots of loose ends that was never really resolved. in that sort of situation, all you want is to know why it happened, what they were feeling: the first question will be what were you thinking? and the nexy question will be what did you say? and then they're gonna check to see if the answerss to one and two matched up much along the way ...but when you finally get your chance to talk, there's the tiniest bit of hope that the breakup was a mistake, even though you know it's never going to be the same. |
