| They Might Be Giants – Chess Piece Face Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| No, the brother just thinks it was written about him. He hates TMBG and everything they do, so he takes some of his brother's songs as insults. Apparently he and Flansburgh aren't too close. Chess Piece was written about a guy They worked with for a while, but few people know who he is. | |
| Lemon Demon – Sky is Not Blue Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I think this song is about worshipping God. The construction paper dolls are crucifix's with jesus on them, "when I play it next week" means performing a hymn in church, and the fourth verse is a hallucination in which the figure of christ appears to be alive (possibly the result of the use of drugs) and the lego set could be a shrine. However, this person is turning against God, as he destroys his shrine, and thinks that there are more to what God apparently made, hence the theme of the song being things not being the colour they appear to be. They might begin to think it impossible that God created all, and they're going mad inside. |

there's only one Lemon Demon. And I've always seen YESHACOT as a rebellious song, like someone getting revenge on those who've done him wrong. |

| They Might Be Giants – Older Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| My favourite is the Brave New World clip version (with the drums and bass, and guitar). It sounds sinister. The video, as well. It features TMBG in suits, and is filmed entirely in black and white, except for a red timer right next to them. | |

I wish I had this song back. I miss it so much. It's such a nice song. |

| Lemon Demon – Matches and Nails Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this song, in my mind, says that all things can be appreciated, whether or not it's just a match, or some crazy freaky dude putting a railroad nail in your head. | |

STALKER ALERT! that's probably the point, like how....INSANE fans can get. |

| Lemon Demon – Take A Picture Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think this song gives out the message that as the world spirals into a pathetic slump, the memories of good times must be remembered. The world cannot help itself out of its' own fate, as expressed in the line: "There's a world of dreams, and it's out of reach." |

| Lemon Demon – Subtle Oddities Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This song most likely represents a descent into madness. "Lost upon your eyes" could mean that they're alone in seeing these things, the mad person doesn't see the same terror they feel when they look into the other's eyes. |

| Lemon Demon – Go To Hollywood Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This is one of the more serious songs by Lemon Demon. He is obviously showing how people are ruined by fame. They're built up, but are quickly forgotten in a few weeks. The line "See the ragged old magazine with the mirror on the front" means there is a month old magazine with a picture of the person on it. Looking at it is almost like looking into a "mirror". |

| They Might Be Giants – Pencil Rain Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
The 'Pencil Rain' could be rain lashing down so hard that it feels like sharp 'pencils'. This song reminds me of a Roman legion awaiting orders. They look out for number two: they look out for each other. The splintering wood could be their spears breaking in battle. "And none who have witnessed all Can think of a nobler cause Than perishing in the Pencil Rain." Their undying loyalty. |

| They Might Be Giants – Don't Let's Start Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I just think this song is about a guy and his cat. The cat is sort of unruly, and keeps doing stuff like, I don't know, fighting with the dog. And the narrator is kinda old, and the cat just bounces around, and he can't keep up with her, hence the line "I don't get around how you get around" And if anyone should say this is shallow thinking, they should check out how the song was written. The music was done first, and the most part of the lyrics were done 'cause the syllables fitted the line. Maybe the only inspiration was a cat, like the inspiration for 'I Am Not Your Broom' was a broom in the corner of the room. |

| Lemon Demon – Ode to Crayola Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This song represents a child's rather unhealthy attachment to crayons. This obsession reaches new levels in the second verse. "I'm gonna rise at dawn with no clothes on, and color all my skin." But I think this song could also look upon the happy memories of childhood, when the only concern you had was if you'd lost your powder blue. This song is the sort that gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling. |

| Lemon Demon – Atomic Copper Claw Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I get the feeling this song is about paranoia. He's thinking that his murder is imminent. | |
| Lemon Demon – Stuck Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think this song is about someone who feels as though life has only thrown things at him, and he blames Neil for his existence. (He wrote the song, after all.) | |
