after listening to this a lot, you realize how depressingly boring and crappy your life and you actually don't care, well you won't do anything about it which is even more depressing. ouch |

i think it's led on.
and this is more about supporting bush than bush himself which is actually pretty refreshing. there are too many anti-bush songs. |

Portugal. The Man – Waiter Lyrics

I think it's about secrets and trying to cover up, not sure about waht though. My first thoughts were government secrets - "make sure our failures are hidden", but it might be an affair - "lords shaking the headboards". Or it could be a mistake to do with mining that the government tried to cover up. |

Nic Newshams vocals in this are awesome and fit so well, can't wait for the new GAD album. As for the song, I think it's about contemplating and maybe actually going through with suicide after become addicted to a drug. I thought "gravel-laced sunsets foaming in my belly" was a great line, him jumping and the concrete/gravel is the end, the sunset. But he's only contemplating it hence the foaming in my belly, maybe he's worried but still wants to end his life. Anyway, one of my favourite songs, especially because of Nic's vocals. |

It seems almost all songs by MTB are written about vacations, or written on them. They have such fantastic imagery in their lyrics |

I've looked around and i think the line is rinse and rinse repeat and it really sounds like that. i can understand it too, rinsing would be him crying to "rinse" the girl out of his life with tears. Some great lyrics here. Or maybe he just likes shampoo. |

I want to like this song and it is one of my favourite of all time , but i fear that if i agree with what he says, i'll be as bad as them. But before i even heard of SA i stopped hanging out with these group of kids because i coldn't stand some of them. Now just doing what i enjoy, football, not tying to be different to impress or for attention. This is why SA appeals to me so much, with a lot of their songs. |

Say Anything – Little Girls Lyrics

Doesn't want to become another trend for teeny bopping girls, and he's saying that's is definitely not what he wants to become.
Don't you come near me. (I'm a psycho. Whoa!)
Don't come close to me. (I'm a psycho. Whoa! )
Why don't you fear me? (I'm a psycho. Whoa!)
Don't dance so close to me. (I'm a psycho. Whoa!) |

I think the song is about Max trying to get signed but because of the typical unoriginal bands that the rcord labels are happy to sign he isnt getting a foot in. He could, but as shown in belt, he will only do things the way he wants to do them and he won't change. First verse is about him looking to be signed, "for drugs", maybe to feed his habit of music. Then being rejected, "puke green cloud just spat me out". Pollinate me, sign me. Hopes to see the typical bands with their record companys "writhe again soon" or fail. "They've got the army of ears, they can't hear you now" is a clever line. The record companys are supposed to recognise talent "(army of ears)" but just ignore it when they hear it, just because it's different "furrowed brows". But he's still passionate "piss in my veins". I cant understand the last couple of lines tho, posssibly he's taking a stab at those who do just follow the trend of the same old music and actually pay to get there. Or his 12 bucks are his own original song style to give to them and they can do what they want to him as long as he's soing what he wants and getting his messages across to the people, that emos and all trends are a waste of time, stupid and pitiful. By doing this the record label would fuel him up, make him even more passionate but angry. |

Possibly my favourite SA song, speaking about how he will destroy all these "scene" and predictable, greedy, repititive, unoriginal bands with his songs. He will spare no one. Even bands who some people consider to be as idolic as the Sun and the Moon. After all his songs are completely original and ridicoulously lyrically amazing. |

Ye totally agree with skid but don't see this woman as a prostitute, "can't get laid in thsi town without theses pinty fuckin shoes" could be a metaphor for a lot of things, bring your own interepretation to that, but the "get laid" bit, i think getting laid is about being popular. You have to make a lot of sacrifices to be "scene" and not be yourself. i know you wer speaking figuratively, great take though skid. P.S My favourite line "please take me out of my body
up through the palm trees
to smell california in sweet hypocrisy"
Talking about how she would just love to be herself but doesn't want to be unwanted, being hypocritical of other popular people, as she is popular herself. She lives with "WOE". |

Say Anything – An Orgy of Critics Lyrics

I think hes talking about his first critic, bot obviously not the last "you always remember your first". How critics can sometimes make you or break you. We will show you your future, choke the air from your world. Then they move on to their next "victim". He's trying to break this trend with the last verse, saying he will defeat or "kill" the critic. "Ive never killed nobody, promise your my first, you always remember your first. Great song and I could be wrong, this is just my take on it, i would like to see other opinions. |

i watch my neighbor’s son
play with his shotgun in the street
i think i’ll blaze all day
and marvel at the mass of food i eat
Best Line. Shows what everyone one else is doing in a single lyric, accepting racsm, violence etc. and not doing anything about it, pretending it doesn't exist, yet it does. My favourite say anything song, the lyrics are exceptionally great. |

The song is about a girl who used to love rock music but grew up and into someone else, but still has the "rock and roll in her eyes". He wants to set free that rock and roll in her eyes to make her fel how she used to. Love the song |
