Yes, I know this song is really about drug addiction and all that, but don't tell me you can't see it -- this song is so Tony and Maxxie from Skins!! It kills me with how accurate it is. And also it's a gorgeous song -- the melody makes me want to cry. It's after What Happens With The Bus In Ep 9 (I won't say what because SPOILERS.) and it's Maxxie's thoughts on the situation. He wants to be with Tony but he knows he can't unless Tony changes his ways. "Let him know that you know best, "Cause after all, you do know best." -- Maxxie's the bigger person out of the two of them. "Lay down a list of what is wrong, Things you told him all along And pray to God he hears you, And pray to God he hears you." -- he's telling Tony all the things he needs to fix if they're going to be together, and just hoping Tony will know he has to change and won't just say 'Well, sod you then, you're not worth that.' The chorus is Maxxie after The Thing With The Bus, wishing he could save Tony from himself. He's worried he's lost Tony completely, not just as a potential lover but as a friend too, because of all the bitterness over what happened between them in Russia. "He will do one of two things: He will admit to everything Or he'll say he's just not the same, And you'll begin to wonder why you came." -- Maxxie knows Tony will either change his ways and they can be together, or he won't have learnt his lesson and he'll always be a git, and Maxxie will have wasted all this emotion worrying about him and wanting to be with him. Yes, I know everyone will probably think this is bollocks, feel free to say so. But to me, this song is about Tony and Maxxie, the same way Nickelback's 'Far Away' is about Brokeback Mountain. |

| If you remember, James from Son Of Dork is a big fan of the 'Back To The Future' movies. This song is about a character from those movies, George McFly, a geek who is accused of being a 'slacker' by his teachers. The character does many of the the things mentioned in this song in the movie, and he does indeed end up 'drowning in his laughter' with 'three kids and a wife'. They've kinda updated it though, as it was set in the 1950's when MySpace didn't exist. | |

This is my first CoF song.... last night I was reading the lyrics poster for this album. The lyrics read like poetry. And my other half played this to me, and I said, "It sounds like he's got a big beard at the beginning." Then he showed me the video and it blew my mind. And the guy did have a big beard at the beginning!! Usually shouting, roaring bands are not my cup of tea, but.... I think I'm in love. @_@ |

| This song, I believe, is about someone Morrissey was in love with and possibly had a relationship with -- his name was Jake, so I have no idea why he's referred to as Sunny. He (and Morrissey) had a thing for fake tattoos. It's his tattooed stomach Morrissey is lying on the back cover of one of the albums (can't remember which). I think the "needle pressed onto tight skin" could be a reference to tattooing, although it appears to be about heroin. It would be just like Moz to try and trick us, wouldn't it?? | |
