Shhhhhh. A decent band found a way to make an above average living while promoting the message they've been preaching for years via mainstream media. They'll take their RCA check to the bank, just like you would, and now some little Hot Topic kids can pretend like they have an understanding of global politics. Oh, and to whoever said they preferred the phrase "Kill 'em all" to the original lyric "Fuck 'em all": Enjoy pretending to be socially conscious while buying your albums from WalMart. Perhaps you downloaded the wrong free version, but now you totally have both, so you like, totally really understand all points of view, ever, totally, like totally. Jesus fucking christ. Their message is nice, even though you might not think they practice it very well...It's certainly relevant to the modern global state, the fucking kids anymore won't listen to decent music, and, despite the pop-catchy anthems, admit it: It's the closest you'll ever get to telling your friends you totally registered to vote and voted along party lines against the current government which is totally fucking fascist and other words that you don't know the meaning of. Because you sure as fuck are too cool to actually make a difference by actually doing something. Shit. |

oh, it certainly is new-era green day-ish. not necessarily a terrible thing, but it's silly to act like it isn't. i see the jesus deal, but i can also see a lot of hitler references, particularly in light of the video. it's less likely that the song is specifically about hitler, but then again, the man did kill himself. |
