I like how he admits that he was wrong in "Last Night." Compare: "And I still don't know exactly who I am I never will, amen." Now it's: "And you'll finally know exactly who you are" |

| Yeah, this is Craig from Chiodos. I think that Saraujo meant he thinks he would have preferred Anthony singing on this song? | |

I also want to point out the feeling of regret in "all the things that make you happy; that float around you, pull you down." It's like materialism, or feeling sinful because you are too satisfied. So that would explain the penitence. Along with all the other things that three star salute noted about Jesus connections, everything in this song just clicks. Off topic: To three star salute, if you ever come back here, are you less than that on UG? |

Not only does it mean "to pity," but Miserere is also one of the Psalms, so this song definitely has some Jesus and/or religious reference. It's also more specifically a penitential Psalm, so you can get the idea of rebirth in this song, perhaps resulting from a regret of some sort. And the lowercased miserere is a prayer for mercy, or a complaint. That's just what I've found after some research. It's pretty interesting sutff. |

| Brand New – Play Crack the Sky Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Alright, I'm really curious as to what the backing vocals are saying in the outro. Yourlastsmile seemed to have it pretty much right, but it doesn't sound like "we are stranded" to me. Does any one know what the right words are? | |
| Brand New – Jaws Theme Swimming Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Also, it's "bits and pieces on the cutting room floor." | |

I agree with everyone else's idea of the childhood and growing up and everything. But I also see it as a mother waiting for her missing daughter, when in fact the daughter has committed suicide. It not only shows the growing pains of the daughter, but also the mother's as she is still learning. The two have had a fight and the daughter is rebellious: "Some rules are made with all intentions to break and she defends it with a warned rationale. And I've seen what happens to the wicked and proud when they decide to try to take on the throne for the crown." The mother is regretful: "And everything I said about how messed your head is We're cut up and left in bits and pieces on the ground." The entire second verse just shows how concerned the mother is and how she knows that something has gone wrong. Well, anyway, that's what I got out of the song. Also, for corrections other than very minor ones, I'm pretty sure it's "warped rationale," "got cut up." And I'm absolutely sure it's "we've learned nothing." |
