I have this song because I got it off of youtube. As far as I know, that's the only place to get it. Search for it, and there will be a few live videos of brand new playing it. What I did is played it through the speakers, and recorded it to an external mic, now i can listen to it whenever : ) It's a really good song. It shapes what we can expect from the new album. I would be suprised if theres as much post-Hardcore aspects going on in the new album. |

Mangum has made it clear that when writing songs he puts bits and pieces together. There is alot of evidence suggesting this not about the same person the whole way through. The 3rd verse can only be assumed to be about Anne, and he talks about "her" instead of speaking in terms of "you" as he does in the other verses. My guess is that it is almost a compiliation of similar feelings about people. The first two verses are about a girl that he couldn't help, the 3rd is about Anne, who he couldn't save but wishes he could of, and then the last ties it together with a vision he had that he relates to the rest of the song. |

okay okay okay, this is flying at tree level. Despite all of your extreme devotion to all of your opinions that this song is called play crack the sky, you are wrong. On brand new's website, under the street team section, this song is available for download under "flying at tree level" (version 1.0) they explained that there may have been a misunderstanding but when can you tell a brand new songs from its name anyways. Now that that is clarified, and It should be otherwise you're kinda stupid, this is a relativlely confusing song. The style of it is almost in between the style they used in their debut and the style they used for deja entendu. all of it points more towords a song about a failing relationship and how it can be rekindled except for the repetitive "this is a matter of life and death". Even though brand new is always known to be nearly entirely metaphorical, it seems that there is a deeper meaning in this, or maybe it's even more obvious. |
