| The Tragically Hip – Use It Up Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Live life to the fullest, when your time's up know that you've done all you can do, "use it all up" don't save n e thing for later, cause there might not be a later. | |
| The Tragically Hip – Sherpa Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| not sure on the name, but a very over-rated song, i love it. Kinda reminds me of the luxury. | |
| The Tragically Hip – No Threat Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Yea that's what he says, i've seen the hip opening for the rolling stones here in Moncton NB in september. They performed No threat and he did clearly say "I am a Beatles fan". It was an Awsome concert by the way! | |
| The Tragically Hip – Little Bones Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"Baby eat this chicken slow it's full of all them little bones" This is probably one of the best one-liner's i've ever heard, you can apply this to n e thing in life and it'll make sense. |

I love this song, it's really great! not sure of the meaning really. The only thing i can relate to tho is "Talkin alien invasion as the only chance for unity Well sorry to interrupt you caller" Which in my mind i take as we has humans don't get along as we should, and it'll take an outside threat to bring us togethre, to fight back as one, as a family. I play hockey and there is one thing i know for sure! Sometimes it takes a good bench-brawl to bring a team closer together as a whole. |

| The Tragically Hip – Don't Wake Daddy Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I don't know either, i like the refernce to kurt cobain tho. I also love how there isa pause from the drums after each of these words: "don't" "wake" "daddy", the drum pause sounds so awsome! | |
| The Tragically Hip – Yawning Or Snarling Lyrics | 20 years ago |

| The Tragically Hip – Trickle Down Lyrics | 20 years ago |

not sure about this song, but i love the beat to it. From what i gather from the course, its seems like some kind politcal image. In my mind i see a king high up on a pyramid while the regular people not so well-off line up to recieve there peice of bread and cup of water from the king who controls the wealth of the people. He has all the food and luxury we wants, but only gives the people enoug hto keep them alive. Anyone else have any more thought? |

| The Tragically Hip – Titanic Terrarium Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"His great grandfather worked for Goodyear he'd see the blimp on Sundays wonder what the driver knew about making rubber tires." i love that line. It remind me of NHL hockey team owners. Many team owners don't know a thing about hockey, they proably don't even know how to skate. They are just the business side of things and raking in the big bucks while the players do the dirty work. "an accident's sometimes the only way to worm our way back to bad decisions," We all make bad decisions but no one will ever no about it if nothing bad happends becuase of it. It's not untill something goes wrong that we trace back to the reason (bad decision) it happend, then we point the almighty finger. "My great grandfather was a welder he helped to build the Titanic he didn't certainly think that it was unsinkable." I love that line as well and prettty self-explanatory. |

| The Tragically Hip – The Rules Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Wierd song, my lil brain cannot figure out the meaning, but i'd sure like to know, it sounds deep. One thing i've noticed is the repeated refernece to the "superfarmer" which is in a few hip songs, anyone know what that's all about? | |
| The Tragically Hip – No Threat Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Amazing song! just heard from the hipeponymous box set! I'm not good with song meanings but here's the impression i've got. It's as if gord is somewhat reflecting back along his career. The music styles of the hip over the years has changed a bit, some of of softer, some harder music. The "trouble at the henhouse/phantom power/violet light" era seemed to be the softer part, where some fans felt that the hip sold out on them (not me tho). And this seems like gord's defence saying i'm not trying to impress everyone, i just write/sing/play music, if you like it, fine, if you don't, fine. I got that part from the course "I am here it's only me I ain't freed nobody yet it's just me I'll just be a sec I'm a cleaner, I'm no threat, no threat, no threat I'm a reader, I'm no threat." then there's the line "you die to your fans one window at at a time - that's right!" but hen his response "but I'll get my mind's armies moving at full-stride" i could be totally wrong, but this is just what i've got for some reason. Either way an awsome song by an awsome band and after 2 decades show no signs of slowing down. GO HIP GO! |

Not sure the exact meaning but i like the lines: "Billboard breasts, they don't have a face, I know that fact you've got, no girl could ever trace" Talking about porn or fake breasts, and saying to his girl, sure models are sexy, but i like you just the way you are, your unique and real, not silicone. |

| The Tragically Hip – Heaven Is A Better Place Today Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
You nailed it dead on and beat me to it :P I love the part "Heaven is a better place today becuase of this but the world is just not the same" Dan is now in heaven and his presence there makes it a better place and in turn, his lack of presence here on earth makes it a slightly worse place. I just love that part :D |

| The Tragically Hip – Summer's Killing Us Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I just got the new hipeponymous box set. In one of the DVD's with extra bonus stuff. Gord hints that this song is all about the Summer in which the hip first formed a band when they were still in high school. The memories of getting together every day/night and playing music and just living for the moment. the get thier fist few gigs at local bars n such, nothing special but they just loved playing for n e one even if the bar was half empty they didn't care they just play for the music. | |
| The Tragically Hip – Boots Or Hearts Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I agree, and i love the comparison of it "falling apart" to "boots or hearts", haha it's so clever and true! | |
| The Tragically Hip – Are We Family Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| No comments? Sheesh, this is a real great song, Not sure the exact meaning but i think it has somthing to do with all living things on earth. We share earth as our home, yet conflicts between different species/other human races happen every day. Are we family or what? | |
| The Tragically Hip – 700 Ft. Ceiling Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Not sure if it is really about drugs, but it IS possible becuase they have done it before on the latest album, "one night in copahagon" is all about drugs, so this one could be to. | |
