| this whole song is about the loss of innocense, both physical and emotional. its pretty blatent throughout the song. i dont think it is about anyone dying. i think its him taking a step back and looking at everything he took for granted as a kid and him wantin that back. when he talks about clawing at the dirt and complaining about the ceremony etc, he is saying that he doesnt want to let go of his childhood because he feels there were so many things he missed out on..."the ceremony was not proper" ---The first time i really listened to this song and payed attention to the lyrics, it gave me chills. theres so much emotion behind every word and you can honestly feel what he's feeling. | |
