| Bloc Party – The Prayer Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Whether or not its intended, this song is the patron song of politicians world wide. Not your lying, sleazy type that're all over the news with an ego the size of Everest, the real type, the kind who believe that politics is a calling, not a profession, the true diplomats of the world. I'm sure everyone who's ever had to turn on their charisma in order to get the job done has said this 'prayer' in some form before they start. Well, that's what it means to me |

| I'm curious about the 'we hooked in there for hours' part. It mentions 6th btn and Nui Dat. Does this mean that this part of the song is about Long Tan, were D company was up against an entire regiment of NVA? | |
| Hilary Duff – Jericho Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Jericho was/is a town near the Jordan river in Israel/Palestine. It was the first city that the Jews passed when entering the promised land. God commanded them to sack the town and not occupy. This is where "the walls will crumble..." etc. comes from. I could be wrong, but "money, love and jealousy" were the 'sins' committed by the Jericho-ans, and that was why God commanded the Jews to sack the town. I think the "one more mile..." part is all about finally being at the end of a journey (40 years wandering) and the trust involved, "I will follow where you go". I'm not Jewish, or a religious person, but I started reading the bible, just because I had nothing to do, and when I heard the song, the references were all crystal clear to me. I think the song is all about this bible reference, modified to link to a modern day relationship in 'tough times' that are about to end, just like in the book of Exodus or whatever it is. |
