| Alright alright I agree, commercial rap sucks, it has turned into club hits. But when you say techique speaks about the real thing?! thats bullshit. His "facts" are wrong and allegations to authority figures are contradictory and just wrong that may lead the ignorant a stray from actual fact. I am reluctant to listen to him, well not reluctant because I love his shit but I definitely dont agree with what he says in most of his songs. But this is not the point, the point is he is making music about something that he believes in, and as UnAmerican and contradictory as it is, he is making music about something besides bling bling and bitches and whips, and this needs to be commended. Other artist like Talib Kweli and Mos Def(Blackstar) and atmosphere and Aesop Rock are the future of the new hip hop, taking it to places and giving it a feel that the Wu, biggie, pac, and Bone Thugs and co. had at one time, and taking it back from from that awful dirty south rap, which is by far worse than country music(I rather like country music though.) | |

idk if i can agree with you guys on some parts. However this is what i think of the song. You probably wont agree, but to each his own. I feel like this person he is describing has feelings for this girl, but she isnt so sure of a relationship with him. So in some way she tells him to come over and she will u know give him an answer of sorts. He is nervous that she will reject him ("I am nervous that you wont be my lover"). She tells him that she likes him, and I guess they go out. When he sees her at the door, he realizes she is the one he loves. He describes his love for her as eternity wont be enough for him(he will never get tired of her) and infalliable love is a love that is incapable of error. When hes with her unusual thoughts of lust come into his head which he has never experienced before and she does too. They grow to love each other alot. Idk about the vampires, but it would explain the lust(vampires are usually evil, or portrayed evil anyways) and the eternity, but i think eternity just describes how strong his feelings are for her. All and all, an unconditional love of 2 ppl, kinda cliche, but well written by a great band. |

What I hear is some just random words, "anytime brother, Drive way" and some stuff like that. The only understandable sentence is, the main guy talking say, "I think about what fate is." Does this have any significance? And this is a drug song. I think the first verse is like the reality of drugs(heroin) and the one he does, and like a resentment and regreable tone in his voice....IDK thats how I took it......And the verse with the "Christmas time and the needles on the tree....." is like even though he resents doing drugs, when he get the delivery(skinny santa) and all the good feeling of doing drugs comes back. When he says, "dead men talk to all the pretty nurses" hes talking about when someones body shuts down on drugs, or OD's. Their is no hope for them and there gonna die. The last lines are a cry for help. "dont let me get carried away" carried away(as I took it) as like in a body bag, or a coffin dead. He wants to be saved, and is calling for help. I dont think he killed himself. This is such a deep song, and its so great, a classic. My favorite. |

Yea, I agree with res87cue, if anyone is familiar with the publius enigma, there are some theorys, one that I happen to agree with, that TDB was a self tribute to PF history. If you listen carefully, you can hear certain noises and guitar parts from earlier songs on earlier albums. Im not taking credit for this, for its not mine. Newho, with TBD looking back on their history, gilmour saw how much they really missed waters. And in the line "i open my door to my enemes, and i ask could we wipe slate clean, but they tell me to go fuck myself" i think gilmour reached out to waters and wanted to cool and put the past behind them, waters declining in the line but they tell me to go fuck myself. Bottom line(i feel) dont live in regrent, looking back on all the times they had together, and putting together this tribute, they realized they missed waters. Gilmour produced an amazing album without waters . TBD |
