| Clues – Remember Severed Head Lyrics

I always heard "away from disbelief and fear" which would make sense with the "go fishin" and "give me a visual on lochness" lines. and also "ink doesn't cost you" instead of ink does a costume but who knows. this song is awesome. I for some reason really like that he reuses the opening line in cave mouth. |

yeah its definitely "pulsating in" not "consider with" your ear.
I think this song is about a one night stand judging by this bridge
Lay your head down, rest your feet
I'll blow you kisses while you sleep
and when I know you're safe and dreaming
my escape plans in full swing
being honest to the point where her heart is totally open then he leaves when she is asleep. Ive never scammed anyone like that but I have definitely escaped after feeling shitty about a one night stand before the girl woke up.
thats just my opinion though.

sorry kaclaborn05 but Im pretty sure cellordoor has the right idea. just cause its about him changing his music doesnt mean he's shallow and materialistic. He built I pillar. he was on a pedastool of great musicians and he had respect from everyone who needed to know about him. then he threw it away. I certainly lost a lot of respect for him and Im sure a lot of other old fans did too. and that seems like a hard thing to deal with.
Tiny curtains open (small venues)
and we heard the tiny clap of little hands (small crowd of loyal fans
A tiny man would tell a little joke and get a tiny laugh from all the folks (this is talking about him being the entertainer)
Sitting drifting around in bubbles and thinking it was us that carried them
(this is talking about loyal fans the real fans who loved modest mouse and had a real emotionaly attachment)
When we finally got it figured out that we had truly missed the boat (self explanitory) |

Ok I think I have an idea on the primer gray lyric. When you get a dent removed from a car, the paint is gone and its primer gray till you can get it repainted. so if you got t boned and you were in the passanger seat, you would be dead, the dent would get removed and it would be primer gray. I dont know I just thought of it listening to the song. |

I think the marrage scene works well. the eunuchs standing in rows seem to be the best men maybe. It seems to me that its about a man (im not sure if isaac has ever been married so I dont know if its him) who realizes he doest want it. the prom thing works too. both good. Im not in love with that line though. All the eunuchs, they were standing in rows
singing, "Please stud us out just as fast as you possibly can." |

haha jerks. I have both versions. I thikn the one with the two minutes of silence is better. its a better recording. I have the whole ep and its pretty good but its hard to listen to cause it has a lot of stuff from long drive and building nothing, it just sounds worse. and bright eyes is nowhere as good as modest mouse. and the dude from bright eyes is a pussy. he cried on stage when my friend saw them. modest mouse is the best band ever. seriously. I cant stop coming back to them. Ill take like a week long break and fall back in love with them. Ill even read up on them again. relearn all the same facts. sorry this is so long but I havent had any of there music for like 2 weeks and I just got it back. uhhhhh yeah |

well I kinda think its a bunch of catch fraises/quotes isaac came up with. "featherweight fathers know nothing about daughters and sons be damned" its a really good line. also the last lyrics are wrong but I have no idea what they are so thats no help. |

Im pretty sure everyone has said the same things, so I didnt bother reading them. I just wanted to say that this song is the best on the album and its delivered so well. he can take simple lyrics about everyday things and just make them so good. I really like the line "And you can swap jumpers and make another move" I have to listen to taht part over and over again when I listen to this song. |

| Arctic Monkeys – Fake Tales of San Francisco Lyrics

Im from san francisco, well I live like 15 miles away from the actual city but this song really sounds like hes describing the local scene. Im sure hes not but these lines really make me think that..
"There's a super cool band yeah
With their trilbys and their glasses of white wine
And all the weekend rockstars are in the toilets
Practicing their lines"
All the bands dress in suits and drink wine trying to be classy but theyre all depressed. and they have a little gathering of fans that go to every show which might explain the "weekend rockstar" thing.
and the line "Get off the bandwagon and put down the handbook" makes sense because every band (and theres like 5 of them from my town) are all joy division/interpol type scensters that all dress alike. and all the music sucks. sorta. |

yeah I think this is one of the top three on the album with when the sun goes down and certain romance. but yeah I relate to these lyrics a lot. especially that line "That girl's a different girl today
Said that girl's a different girl to her you kissed last night
You couldn't have done that on a Sunday" |

no darkapathy, this song is about heroin Im pretty sure. song writters dont want to say "so I was doing heroin" in thier songs, so they disguise it with metaphors. I used to think people really read into songs too much but it all makes sense. I agree with everything everyone about me has said. its symbolism. If you are addicted to heroin you will do whatever it takes to get it. the mother leopard having her cub kidnapped = someone needing something that they will pay a lot to get it. yeah. whatever I love this song. |
