I doubt Gloria ever turned to prescription drugs. She seems more like the kind of person that would call on a higher force to help her through anything, rather than taking prescription drugs (which most anyone can see is part of the problem in our country today; there seems to be a drug to relieve everything, if you are willing to look past the lovely side effects - drug companies claim lots of relief, but where are all of the cures?). I would think Gloria would go the for real cure, not the synthetic one. |

Just wanted Bradcd and sacrificeforlife1 to know that Mary Jane is a term that refers to marijuana, not a person. Whatsername is the girl that St. Jimmy fall for. Clearly two very different things. Brokenwings probably comes closest on the interepretation of this song in that Whatsername is just like St. Jimmy/JOS, and is like his female counterpart, his other half. St Jimmy sees something different in Whatsername (she's a rebel & a saint) and he thinks it is a good thing. |

Definately an interesting song. I'm not exactly sure what he was thinking when he wrote "She sees the mirror of herself, An image she wants to sell to anyone willing to buy," but I am pretty sure it is NOT about her literally wanting to sell herself. More likely the "image" is the outer image. What people see, or think they see, when they are only focusing on the outer image/appearance. Others being so focused on the outer image and seeing what they want to see and/or the assumptions they make as a result of the outer appearance, that don't bother to see or get to know the real her. Basically, things aren't always as they appear and Jimmy/JOS sees that. As Brokenwings said, he sees through it and allows her to be herself around him. |
