First of all...Yellowcard didn't just wanna jump in with all the other bands who speak their mind about politics and the war....Ryan just wanted to write about things that were real in his life and the world around him...and everyone know's how Ryan feels about the war and how he is against it..and if he wants to express something that he feels strongly about soo be it...nothing wrong with expressing how he trully feels about things that are actually going on in the real world today.=)
and he also has said many times that they wrote this record for themselves..not for anyone else...that for the first time he wasn't afraid to express how he really felt about something and not have to worry if it wasn't what people wanted to hear.

ppl stop arguing!...and yes everyone is entitled to their own opinions...but this is more based on respect..if you don't like yellowcard that's fine..no one is forcing you to like them..and if you happen to like ONE song from them that's kool...just don't come in a certain area that's about yellowcard and start bashing on them...bcuz that is immature and disrespectful to yellowcard fans...soo if you happen to only like a song from them then say what you have to say about the song..there's no need to take a turn towards negative town ;)

Actually it's not about a girl in particular...they said it before many times...none of the songs on the album were really written about a certain someone..the 'her' he is talking about is holly as in hollywood...
and to Kelsiops
First of all the song 'City of Devils' has nothing to do with SOTY's lyrics "City lights burn" bcuz 'City of devils' is about Los Angeles...you know how it is nicknamed the "City of Angels"..well yellowcard is talking about all the negative things about LA..just like the lyrics "It's hard to find angels in hell" meaning LA is hell...sooo it has nothing to do with SOTY's lyrics..unless SOTY were singing about LA and how it's not such a great place afterall...and I don't think that's what they were singing about...
Second...'Rough Landing, Holly' is about Hollywood..and Blinks 'Easy Target' is NOT about hollywood..if you would take the time and look up the meaning of the song you would find out it has nothing to do with Hollywood...
For Example...
The first, "Easy Target," tells the story of a high school kid who gets invited to a pretty girl's house, so he rides his bike there as quickly as possible, only to have her and a friend jump out of the bushes and soak him with a hose. He leaves sad and dejected.
And...'Two Weeks From Twenty' and' Wake me up when September ends' are similar due to the fact that they are both about a guy who goes to the war...but umm ppl BEFORE Green Day have songs about the war also..sooo Green Day is not the first to come up with that idea...and they are certaintly not the last...the war is something that affects a lot of ppl...and that is why there tends to be more than ONE song about it.. |

I personally think it's more to Ben...but I heard that it's more to Alex...idk either one...this song is amazing and it just gets inside of you and it's almost as if you can feel all the pain Ryan has/is going through just by the way his voice is carried out through the song... |

umm....to Pod_Pwner or whatever your name is...first of all..if you don't think yellowcard has any value then what the hell are you doing here in the first place!?...second of all I don't appreciate you coming in a section that is titled yellowcard just to bash on them..bcuz that is just pathetic and immature...you need to grow up and realize that not everyone is gona like the same thing as you..everyone has different opinions that life..suck it up..get over it..and if you don't like yellowcard then leave...it's that simple =)
Last but not least..this song is amazing...and is one of my top all time fav yellowcard songs...and the line "Empty is nothing and nothing is you" is just beautiful =) |

This song is effin amazing!!!!....I really payed attention to the lyrics and all I gotta say is wow...this songs has soo much emotion to it...and the first who comment before me..pretty much sumed it up...I agree with them on it being about a relationship..a relationship that has ended...and They loved them soo much..and all they wanted to do was love them...and the other person just left them there..with all this love and emotion built up and no where to dispose of it...and they finally realized that the person is not coming back..and this is the last time they will have to go through this pain...and it just pretty much ends their life bcuz it was too much pain to live with......it was unbearable...that the only way they felt like they could get out of this feeling was to end their own life.....

Well since the video just came out a few wks ago i think it helps the meaning of this song. This songs means so much to me i can relate so much to it because of my parents. I watched the constant fighting and arguing everyday and seeing my mom cry just like Kelly points out in the video. I think this song is about her parents and everything that she experienced by being so young and having to witness all of this. At first i think she blames her mother for making Kelly live with all the pain her mom was going through and not letting Kelly live he rown life, but then towards the end she thanks her mom for what she went through so she can know better than to let her daughter go through the pain kelly went through. Its all in the video, it shows all the things kelly went through as a little girl and when she grows up and is married and has a child of her own she knows where to correct her mistakes through what her mother went through. In the end of the video is shows Kelly and her husband fighting in front of the little girl(just like kelly experiences as a child) and the husband is about to break a photo frame with a picture of them three but Kelly stops him and grabs the picture and hugs him because of her mother. Because she saw what her mother went through she lived all her mothers pain and she does not want her daughter to have to suffer the same way she did. Its a learning song and Kelly learned where to fix things in her life because of her mother. Thats where the title comes in "Because of you" really is "Because of you mother". Thats what i think....the video helps alot they show it all the time on mtv. ive seen it 3 times in the past 2 hrs...and its number one on trl soo make sure to watch it...and i cry to the video everytime i see it...its gets me everytime i see it..its such a strong song and video :'( |
