well, i'm the first one to post on this song. it's a tough one to crack, for me, anyway. obviously there's a general inclination of waiting out a rough period and waking up somewhere better. the metaphor is a dark night, having to keep on pushing through the rough spots and waking up and seeing again, in a sense. |

I think this has a vague biblical reference, although i'm not sure. they may be using the bible from a literary standpoint rather than a religious one. anyway, it's talking about the end of mortal life, when all the suffering a certain group of people have endured will end and everything will be made right, which could have a slight reference to the rapture. however, there's also a lot that could deal with friendship and stuff, so it's tough to say. thrice is mysterious. |

Hmmm, i'm not sure of the full meaning of all these lyrics, but it's kind of obvious, some of the lines, anyway. There's a quote, "red sky at night, sailor's delight. red sky in morning, sailors warning." usually it was believed that if the sky was red in the morning it was a sure sign that there would be a squall or terrible storm soon. So, when they say that seeing the red sky in the morning is essentially a mark that they'll probably be in a storm and their ship will sink. it's a sign of foreboding, the red sky. As for the song in general, it's tough to say. that's up to thrice. |
