| Scud Mountain Boys – Kinievel Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Transcribing all the lyrics up by ear I figure this is actually a more hopeful song on that album. They use Evil Kinievel as a metaphor for taking risks. And that through taking risks, you can achieve some of the best feelings. Like when he sings, "It didn't take much living to see that I'm only free when I'm flying." And the outro is great because it's like saying, I'm not afraid to go out and hurt myself, because I know that in doing that something good is bound to happen. |

| Chuck Ragan – For Broken Ears Lyrics | 19 years ago |

First off, thanks for putting this song on here. This song is mainly about the corruption all of the badness in the world. The first part is about wars in far away lands, like Iraq. The suns are blackened with smoke from wars that are declared with little reason. "The rotten core" is hell. Anyone involved in mindlessly following so called "good' administrations' intentions will go there. Passion, and love are things that are barely existant. It falls on broken ears, it's left on the value shelf. No one needs it when the administrations tell us what to think. Love is dirt left to the wind. Still, it survives in these places. Someday, it will save us again. When there will be peace. It's a sad yet hopeful song. About if we recognize we're all human on this world, Chuck probably wouldn't have written this song. That's just a rough translation, there are more metaphors that can be figured out using what I've said. Again thanks for transcribing this (all I have is a rough recording from a show). |

| Eve 6 – Open Road Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is not about driving at all. It's a metaphor about a lifestyle. Came upon it differently, but I live this lifestyle. In essence, living for the next moment. Hoping for something better. It's like trying to find something but you never really know what's good for you. Loving something, thinking it's perfect and seeing way past flaws. It's about enjoying solitude. Constantly imagining what's to come, maybe there will be someone there. Perhaps not, but it doesn't matter because you've always got yourself. It's also about being egotistical, but noticing it. Ironically, knowing and calling yourself a hypocrite for it. The lines : "But that's O.K. cause I sound better than him anyway any day yeah my voice is sweet as salt ". deal with it, being egotistical, but throwing in a pun that deep inside you know it. The last line reinforces the looking to the future. "Times before can be forgotten." Time past are forgotten because they are hurtful, and that's why this lifestyle goes into place, trying to find something good. But really never knowing. The never knowing is the open road. Everything else is metaphors for what goes on in your mind when you really stop to think about what's going on. |

| Hot Water Music – Powder Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The first part is about turning hate into goodwill for others, atleast in your mind. The rest is actually enacting it and declaring it as the final decision. Kinda tough though, it could be about growing love. | |
| Hot Water Music – She Takes It So Well Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| He was ignorant and misunderstood. She's been drinking alcohol most likely. That's what I get from it. | |
| Hot Water Music – Old Rules Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is about being unsatisfied with yourself. The beginning tells the story of monotony possibly. But, inside you feel the urge to change. You want to find the thing to change you and make you feel better. The whole "-to feel before I think and think before I know. To know. Know before I act, act before I grow..." part is a logical sequence of putting the change into works. Maybe the guys want us to live by these steps. |

I think the first part of this song is about cowards or being a coward. It's easier to let things slide, and hide. The second part also is about that, but also about being brave and comming to one's senses. |

| Hot Water Music – Trusty Chords Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is about dealing with a dead relationship with drugs. Trying to let go, but just cannot and the drugs are mellowing out the pain. I think that, "An empty fate just means an even score." means something in more of a personal war sense. Lulling on the love, and not moving on is the empty fate. So in respects to a fight, the score is even, you've lost. |

Well on the Live at the Hardback album, he says, "This song is about the Hardback." It's pretty much about unity and the strength of friends. |

| Bloodhound Gang – Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| It's all about sex. And, the Uhn Thiss Uhn Tiss is a beat put into words. Catchy song, It's more fun to just listen to the "uhn tiss" repeating. | |

For an actual meaning of this song. They're just singing of things that, in retrospect suck. But at the time, they were wonderful. As for the song title, no clue how that fits in. It's a good, catchy, and humorous song. |

| Hot Water Music – The End of the Line Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
It's about trying to slow down and get into a relationship. Let someone else into your life, like above said. " Cause even here tonight where I'm so wound up inside, I know that it's time." - He feels finally ready to open up and be loved. |
|
| Hot Water Music – Poison Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think it's about a relationship being poisoned. The other cheated and lied. Pretty much everything is in reference to horrible lies. | |
| Hot Water Music – Giver Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The lyrics are easily interpretted. Basically, live as you want. You'll enjoy it more if you don't restrict yourself. If you don't, you'll regret it. | |
| Hot Water Music – This Early Grave Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| It's about a big mistake. He can't stop thinking of it and it's draining him. The mistake is not named but he obviously feels he can't go on. | |
| Hot Water Music – Scraping Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| skacore definetly hit it right on the head. I think it's more of a song mocking drug addicts. "Is it all worth the wait to save a penny." Waiting for prices to drop just to get a fix. | |
| Hot Water Music – Manual Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I listened through Forever and Counting, and this song stuck out. So it was the first I learned the words to. I love it. Pretty much the meaning is to not be afraid of others. Everyone has something they can teach you. ...And pretty much everything everyone else has said. It's got a lot of meaning. |
|
| Hot Water Music – The Sleeping Fan Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| It's about relationship problems. He has put his mind and heart into things. Everything came crashing down and he keeps thinking about it over and over again hence the spnning fan. | |
| Hot Water Music – Wayfarer Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Basically it's about being persistant and not letting anything put you down. Not matter what happens, keep going. Also, a favorite song of mine. Best lines "It's a gamble, double down or don't." Really can't take it apart? Don't try something unless you are going to take responsiblity for your actions. |
|
| Hot Water Music – Instrumental Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This is undoubtedly my favorite song on the CD. The "Arm yourselft with retrospect" line is my favorite. It's basically saying the old saying, "Learn from the past"... and of course don't make the same mistakes. The songs actual meaning. Well, I think it's about a relationship gone bad or possibly a traitor. But it's probably some big allusion to something else. |

| Hot Water Music – Turnstile Lyrics | 20 years ago |

To me, this song says don't be all uptight about things. From the "No point to surrender" part, I get that there is no turning back so why not go for it? |
