obviously it's about drug use leading to not physical death but emotional death because of the loss of someone the singer loved: Turn me on take me for a hard ride Burn me out leave me on the otherside I yell and tell it that It’s not a friend I tear it down I tear it down And then it’s born again "take me for a ride" - taking a trip on drugs (probably 'acid trip') "burn me out leave me on the other side" - let him stay in this drug induced state (called the 'otherside') "I yell and tell it that It's not a friend" - Trying to convince himself it's not an addiction "I tear it down i tear it down And then it's born again" - tries to kick the habit, but no matter what it comes back then it goes on to: "How long how long will I slide" etc therefore...the person will probably never get over his loss of a past love and the new addiction to drugs AMAZING song! -Kupo |
