I saw Rhett at a solo show in NYC in 2000, before the CD was recorded and I believe it was one of the first times he played this song in public. He told the story of being in England and a friend had just proposed to his girlfriend and he was inspired to write it after that. He said she was an actress and very dramatic - I believe her name is Scarlett. I don't remember it all, but the way he told the story is great. If you can ever see him perform solo, you should. He always has great banter between songs and you'll find out great background info on a lot of them. |
