Why is every song ever made about doing drugs?! Even if you've never opened a comic book in your life, surely you might have heard news recently about the new Fantastic Four coming to theaters? The villain involved in this one is the Silver Surfer...who looks dreadfully similar to the Alien on the cover of the album? Joe Satriani is a huge Marvel fan, and this song is just giving props to a great comic book character. It needn't involve drugs to be a CLASSIC song. That's all I have to say about that. |

So...what does this song mean to me?
Well, I think the song is about a woman that SRV is in love with, or was.
How did we end up on Eddie Van Halen and Zakk Wylde and Joe Blow and the other guy? We're on the page involving SRV and NO ONE ELSE, so grow the fuck up, pardon my French, but you really need to.

to ledskynyrd, take the hint: your opinion of skynyrd is still just an opinion! just because you believe that they are the best band ever doesn't mean that they really are! i mean, if i said (and i'm just using an example here) that i really liked vanilla ice cream, and you said "no, that's not true," you would say that my preference is wrong. on the other hand, if i say that vanilla ice cream is the best ice cream in the world, and no one else can say otherwise, that would be wrong of me.

I absolutely love this song, but i love Stairway, too. Everyone in this post is dissing on Stairway!! I mean, I agree that this song doesn't get the respect it deserves, but it's also unfair to put sown another song, just because it gets more hits than the other. I'm out. |

I don't really care for the song, but I listen to it just the same, but you know what really pisses me off? It's people like Zedleppin who don't understand that maybe some people are just getting into Zep's music that listen to Stairway and Whole Lotta Love and Rock and Roll and all the overplayed songs. It doesn't mean that that's all they plan to get into. I remember when I first started listening to Led Zeppelin: All I would listen to was Stairway, but then I was introduced to some new music, and now, i pretty much never listen to the same song twice! At least not in a row. God, why are people so dumb? Just accept the fact that not all Zep fans know everything there is to know about them.They're not ignorant, they're just new fanatics. |
