| Placebo – Post Blue Lyrics

I don't know, I don't think it's about pregnancy...
I think "Post Blue" would mean sort of like "Post Sadness", know like when blue is slang for sad? Like how his love and her depression brings her down and she uses drugs to be up, but that too fucks her up. And how he would maybe do anything for their love not to hurt her that much. |

I find this song totally about Bowie. This line "Now my death is more than just a sad song" refers to his version of My Death. I see this song as Bowie looking back on his like. Kinda like his "My Way" song. |

I heard this on a episode of Veronica Mars. It played during a veeery creepy and intense final scene and it was really incredible. Gorgeous song. |

This was my first Nina song. Heard it on The Thomas Crown Affair and it's hard to think of a song who goes better with a movie than this one. The part with the piano playing while Crown steals the painting is so awesome. It gives some sort of lightness to the movie. Same thing in the end.
Fun movie. Great song. |

| Jacques Brel – Ne Me Quitte Pas Lyrics

I don't speak french but this is the most beautiful song ever. Just thinking about her makes me a little bit misty. I read somewhere that when it was released it was quite the scandal 'cause people weren't used to see a man in such a desperate position. I mean, he literally humiliates himself. The guy sings about being the "shadow of her dog" just to stay near her or something, that's quite low. I wish I could have seen Brel alive (and well and living in Paris. lol). Just for listening to some live recordings his concerts sounded amazing. Like cathartic or something. Didn't he used to cry while singing this song? |

I hate Paul Anka for putting this song on American Idol. It's an amazing song and to hear it on AI, with the lyrics changed to talk about the contestans kind of ruined it. Ugh.
But I still love Sinatra's version. So proud. |

No comments? Oh well, this is the only song by Rod Stewart that I like (not to mention Do Ya Think I'm Sexy 'cause I find that one hilarious). It took quite a long time to find out the name of this song... |

I think that this song and "Michael" by FF are sort of the anthems to the new music. The lyric could'nt be more indie. I just don't get the "Your name isn't Rio but I don't care for sand". I mean, I know what he's talking about but in the context of the song I have no idea. Love the Shakespeare that they put on there too. |

I heard people bitching about this song, saying that is some sort of cover/adaptation to the Blind Williw Johnsson song and that it sucks. I think different, I find this song awesome. It's just pure fun. Something to rock on the dancefloor.
And oh yeah, Dave kicks ass on this. |

This is one of the sweetest songs ever written. So, so beautiful. And I love the way that Van says "I've been carryin' my heavy load", it's kinda hot. ;) |

| Damien Rice – Cold Water Lyrics

I just saw "The Girl in the Café" and I'm almost crying here!
They used Sigur Rós' "Staralur" which I love 'cause it's so bittersweet and it was such a beautiful scene that I almost started to cry. AND THEN they used Damien's "Cold Water" and damn, I sobbed. I have "O" but I never paid attention to this song but seeing in the movie just hit me. The two first verses are just so depressing.
Beautiful song and beautiful movie. |
