Avenged Sevenfold – Bat Country Lyrics 18 years ago
ALSO ALSO ASLOASLASASLSO

"Bat Country" is a single by an American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold from their 2005 album, City of Evil. The song is based upon Hunter S. Thompson's book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The title comes from a line in the film adaptation of the book in which the main character in the middle of a drug trip and seeing hallucinatory bats, swats at the bats with a fly-swatter and says, "We can't stop here. This is bat country."

The video for this song shows various symbolic images and references to the above-mentioned Thompson book. The song centers around the band performing in a hotel room, surrounded by exotic dancers. There are also cuts to a scene in which the band is driving down a barren highway in a bat-winged convertible, surrounded by a cloud of bats (who are being swatted by The Reverend). During the "soft" section, the band appears at a strip club, surrounded by snake-tongued strippers.

The song has been used in several video games including EA Sports' NHL 06, Madden NFL 06 and SSX On Tour. It also had a short cameo in Big Momma's House 2.

The song is on the soundtrack of the extreme mountain bike film New World Disorder 7: Flying High Again.

Avenged Sevenfold won 'Best New Artist' at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards for Bat Country.

The following quote is frequently referred to throughout the song and is shown at the beginning of the music video.

Green Day – Jesus of Suburbia Lyrics 20 years ago
Ok then... so this what I think the story of american idiot is:

American Idiot:
Jesus of Suburbia (jos) is crying out that he doesn't want an the american idiot in the middle of all this of confusion and disorientation around him. kinda like a prequel. Also Anti-Bush #1.

Jesus of surbia:
(part 1) All it's really doing is discribing Jesus of Suburbia's life and him, himself.
(part 2) JoS is crying for help and tell how crappy his town is, and how miserable it's making him.
(part 3) Well... he just doesn't care anymore. He's completely and totally lost faith in his life in this state.
(part 4) JoS is questioning if these are normal feelings. Pretty much just giving himself therapy.
(part 5) He decides he can't take anymore and decides to leave town.

Holiday:
He's partying be himself on streets, and yelling out his dead beliefs in the world. Also Anti-bush #2.

Boulevard of broken dreams:
He finally realizes he's alone and nobody cares. He just walks alone lonely.

Are We the Waiting?:
JoS is still alone, and he's beginning to lose his sanity. Nobody knows who he is. Nobody cares. He's nobody. He's just that guy.

St. Jimmy
So JoS decides to change himself into St. Jimmy (Jimmy). A rebel who's just so hardcore.

Give me a Novacaine
The entity of Jimmy convices JoS to begin to take drugs to ease his pain and keep his sanity.

She's A Rebel/Extraodinary Girl
This is where Jimmy meet's some girl on the streets (Whatsername). A real rebel. Jimmy gets interested in her and eventually falls in love. So then they begin dating.

Letterbomb:
Jimmy can't support what Whatsername need and wants, and eventually, she breaks up with him.

Wake me up When Sept. Ends:
Jimmy falls into depression over whatsername, and being alone again only makes it worst.

Homecoming:
(part 1) JoS, with his experiences of life on the street decides to drop the St. Jimmy act and go back to JoS. So Jimmy kills himself in a sense.
(part 2) JoS get's a job, which he finds boring...
(part 3) JoS is still depressed about Whatsername. He tried waiting for her to come back, but she doesn't (waste of coffee :p)
(part 4) It talks about his friend how apparently started a band and is now a celebrity, while he's still alone.
(part 5) Seeing how everything is basically worse on the street he decides to go back home.

Whatsername:
He's basically looking back at the time with whatsername. Trying to forget about her but the experience with her.

So yeah....
