If you ren't looking at the song related to Isaac's life.. i think it could also be referring to social status... "cocked your head to shoot me down" people will often do anything they can to make sure that they come out on top, and look better then you etc.. as well as "Need me to fall down, so you can climb up Some fool ass ladder, well good luck" The ladder referring to their height of .. "popularity" i guess, it's the only word i can find. And by the person falling down they have the ability to climb higher. Alltogether it's just saying that people will actually stab you in the back to insure their status amongst others, so they can feel better about themselves. When in reality they are hurting people along the way. I really like the line.. "I hope, I hope there's something better up there" it just makes so much sense... what are they looking for up there? |

| I think that this song is stating that change is wrecking a lot of things.. that shouldn't be..changed. Saying that people are building and replacing things, and we have forgotten the more simple and wonderful things in life, that we should pay more attention to. That's just what i believe. | |

I find it hard to interpret quite a few lines in this songs, but some jump out at me and this is what i think of them: "And in the faces you see, you'll see just who you've been" - It's saying that the impact you have on others will show through, whether the impact be good or bad. "I know where you're from, but where do you belong?" - I guess this one is pretty straight forward just saying that, yea i know who you "are" but do you know where you belong in life? "you're the dirt I’ll breath" - I guess it could mean that some people are nothing more then dirt and unfortunately i'm stuck being around you. Stuck being held down to their low levels of thinking.. if that makes sense. "And we know that our hearts are just made out of strings To be pulled, strings to be pulled" - People take advantage of us, and our feelings. |

Well i guess i have some wild interpretation of this song... mainly because i tend to relate songs to a situation so i can understand it better. so don't get all judgemental...Parts of the song i interpret to mean different things about life, For instance: "And even though the moment passed me by I still can't turn away" - Referring to obviously a great moment in the past that you can't seem to forget or want to move on from. "And now we're grown up orphans that never Knew their names" - This could mean that yea we grew up but what did we really learn about ourselves? "Don't belong to no one that's a shame " - not too sure, but i guess it could mean that we took advantage of people in our past.. if you can understand what i'm getting at. "Scars are souvenirs you never lose , the past is never far" - Stating that stuff we have done in the past that may have ruined our future or others future, will always be with us. It's not something that is easily forgotten. "Don't it make you sad to know that life is more that who we are" - pretty straight forward, life isn't all about yourself. Lots of the stuff that we do has a huge impact on our surroundings. I could keep going but it's prety much along those lines. However there are parts of the song i have no idea what they are referring to. Also this is by far my most favourite song i have ever heard. It is soo beautiful. I really enjoy the acoustic version as well. |
