The Beatles – Hey Jude Lyrics 20 years ago
Could be about heroin, but on another level "Hey Jude" is about the Jews. "World on your shoulders" refers to the weight of Jewish destiny as the Chosen People, "waiting for someone to perform with" is the Jewish expectation of the Messiah.
Remember that "Hey Jude/Revolution" was released as blasphemous counterpoint to the Biblical "Jude, Revelation".
Interestingly, when the song first came out, the windows of the Apple boutique were smashed...by a Jewish Holocaust survivor, who reacted to the publicity posters, the "Jude" reminding him of the "Juden Raus" etc. campaigns of the Nazis.

The Beatles – Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds Lyrics 20 years ago
The song is obviously LSD-inspired. If you drop a tab and listen to it, it is undeniable. I think it is about Lucifer in the Sky with Demons, Lennon's devilish dreams of usurping heaven - tying in with his blasphemous earlier remarks about Jesus.

Guns N' Roses – You're Crazy Lyrics 20 years ago
Bad-ass, awesome with perhaps Axl's best vocal performance (the ad-libbing before the guitar solo).

Guns N' Roses – One In A Million Lyrics 20 years ago
One In A Million is quite probably the best protest song ever to come out of rock music. Axl's criticisms of LA (and by definition, American and Western society) are acidic and spot-on. He was attacked for bucking the politically-correct orthodoxy and daring to speak the truth (which we are all thinking, anyway). On that track Axl is a voice crying out in the spiritual wilderness.
