I would of said it was a love song, just an odd one at that. But recently a friend of mine pointed out the hidden yet clear references to jesus ( Iknow I'm not religous either) but he does have a point. I'll only give you 3 examples but others are there. 1. I want to be your easter bunny I want to be your chritstmas tree. Both refering to holidays that are hidden celebrations of the birth and death of christ. 2. I want to wash you with my hair. Is about mary madaline and how she washed his feet and dried it with her hair. and last and not least... 3. I'll be the cup if you should bleed. is a reference to the last supper when they usually say the wine and bread is the blood and body of christ. Again I'm not a holly roller but it does give it a cool hidden depth. |
