| Alanis Morissette – You Oughta Know Lyrics | 7 years ago |

Pretty self-explanatory- a man who promised about their future and turned around and dumped her out of nowhere for a woman who can’t compare to her. She doesn’t think he’ll find anyone like her. I experienced exactly this 13 years ago with my ex. The happiest relationship where we talked about getting married, then he broke up with me and began dating a girl 2 weeks later. He ended up marrying her, and I married around the same time to someone else. She let herself go and I look better than I did then, and he continues to sext me all these years later. I’m still in love with him and probably always will be. So yeah, this song is my entire relationship with my ex! |

It's obvious that this song is about a groupie that someone in the band wrote about. "I touched your hand before the crowd started crushing in" --a fan at a concert. "I've searched the whole world over to find a heart so true"--a fan's admiration. "Let me tell you about the girl I had last night" --he slept with her. |

| Bon Jovi – Bed Of Roses Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is about a rockstar (Bon Jovi) who is constantly on the road and always really far away from home and leading a double life. He sleeps around and drinks a lot, but while he's getting into all this trouble, he's thinking about his wife and realizing how much he loves her. | |
| Elton John – Tiny Dancer Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I believe this song is talking about a groupie who follows a band on the road and the singer eventually falls in love with her. "And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand" meaning she's been travelling with them for a while and he thinks of her a lot and is gradually falling in love with her. And my interpretation of the Jesus Freaks verse is that before a concert people are desperate to get tickets to the show, and she laughs because she knows the band and has all these major connections, and laughs at the people who are desperately trying to get into the show. This song is so great, it reminds me of myself because I follow this one band on the road (no sexual favors or anything like that, lol) a lot and starting to get more and more noticed by the band. Almost Famous fits so perfectly with this song too, that is such a great movie. | |
