Other than than it's a great song. Being a US service member I hear about incidents like this all the time. It is like losing a brother in a way. |

joe queer was/is good friends with a couple of members from rancid. this song was written after he was at a vandals show and a kid with a mohawk and a rancid t-shirt was telling them to play something good; to which dave quackenbush (vandals lead singer) told him to "shut up you trendy rancid motherfucker." this song isn't a knock on rancid, just their few idiot fans. |

Okay, Pete Anna was only on Hello Rockview and Borders and Boundaries. He was not an original member of the horn section. It started as Jessica (alto sax) and Buddy (trombone). Then Derron (baritone sax) came in for Losing Streak through B&B. Pete Anna played trombone in Slapstick (a chicago band no less) and took Jessica's place after Lars from Skankin' Pickle filled in on tour. |

Definitely one of the better B-sides by the Alkaline Trio. This reminds me more of a Tuesday song.
As for the meaning, it definitely comes across as a song about being saved. Most likely by his wife. |

i heard somewhere that this song is written about Peter Anna. He played trombone in Slapstick with Dan, he then moved to florida to join Less Than Jake and played for 2 albums with them. So Peter, who lives in florida is fuckin' far away. Seeing as they're all from chicago and all knew each other, matt probably drank with him alot. also in a way this song kinda seems like it could be about masturbation. |
