you can hear the desperation in her voice. i think that's what makes the song so emotional for me. i cried the first time i heard it. her voice cracks and it's just so fucking REAL. i love it. as far as the lyrics go. she's saying she fucked up and she feels worthless. she is desperate for someone to help her overcome whatever made her feel this way. |

after reading these lyrics about a dozen times. then reading all the comments. i actually began to think this song was written by a dead person. haha. =[ this is a really lovely song. no matter what the meaning. the instrument at the end of the song (slide whistle.?) reminds me of the circus. and makes me think maybe the song doesn't have as many metaphores as some people believe. |
