i think this song is about how the guy she loves cannot love her for some reason (maybe religious) and she is pleading him to let go of whats keeping them apart. She wants him to see his own potential of being able to love. and the fact that she is saying "theirs beauty in the breakdown" means how if he breaksdown and leaves whats keeping them apart then he will achieve something beautiful which is being with her |

coldplay comes so close to overshawdow this song with "fix you" but no...this song is uncomparable to any depressing love song. even metalheads should try to hide their tears for this one. nothing can be done to make this song better. "i can barely look at you" God i can never look at this girl but every single time i do i cant picture myself never looking at her. i think it can clearly go down as one of the best songs of modern rock...i cant live with out it

ever hear a really good song but you still feel like something is missing or they added something unnessary? well this song is the song where everything is exactly where it should be, dont add anything and dont take away anything...this song is perfect. It instigates a mellow yet happy tone that no other song cna achieve...yellow and what if are close but by far this song is just uncomparable. i cant imagine myself in a world without this song... somebody if not coldplay wouldve have done this song and im glad coldplay got to it first because if theyre ever considered "the best band ever" this is their signature

This song is probably deeper then most can perceive. And the video probably gives emphasis on this..why you might ask? well all the events that happen in the video were probably something that the singer and his girl did ex. fishes=aqaurium, pictures, rollar coasters, bowling etc etc and the video keeps getting bigger and in the end the arrow misses which means everything added up to nothing. Anyway Sam feels that he is at fault of all this: "i swear i never meant for this, it was an honest mistake" but note he proably knows its hers because he is blaming her in the begining but just blaming himself through out the song in order to just keep her acquaitance...this song is too good to be true...the killers suck |

i know this may sound stupid but maybe this song is about the singers mother...i mean think about it... he does end up saying "your the woman who made me..." and he never finishes that sentence. Plus maybe "i was dead in the water" means how maybe he had no purpose inside his mother cuz his father abondoned them? who knows? all i know is that although this song isnt the best on the album it is pretty good...kinda ironic though that he says "your the woman who made me a man" and his crooning sounds like a girl |
