This song makes me think of 9/11.. looking for meaning in why it happened and such.. then it goes to "dark clouds have lead me here".. makes me think of the smoke from the towers. no relation at all to the actual meaning. "confind freedom guides us to security".. like has been said, when freedoms are limated, we feel more secure. (Like after 9/11, and recently the London events.) By limating what people can do, it makes them feel safer. Also the name of the album goes with this, "Shadows are Security." George Carlin also wrote about limated freedom makes people feel secure in one of his books. political song, questions a lot.. absolutly amazing song |

Wow, no one has commented on this song.. very good song. To me the meaning is obvious, he cheated on his girlfriend. "Blinded by lust I could not think" Shows that he cheated. He's asking for forgiveness and trying to tell her hes dedicated and won't do it again. |

Awsome song. I had thought the song was about god. Guess not though. The druming in this song are not hard at all, and the double bass really isnt hard to do. As a drummer, my band covered this song and it was very easy to learn. The double bass really isnt hard at all. |

This song is about God. Going before him, knowing that he has failed him and is ashamed. He is looking for forgiveness, "take what i have...what can i give to you..." Such a powerful song, so much emotion in his screaming. As for the title, I think 'Soldier' is reference to a 'servent' of God. And he is basically confessing, and asking for forgiveness, he reliezes that he is not the only one who has fell victum to failing God, so therefore behind him there are more servents that have failed. |
