Emery – So Cold I Could See My Breath Lyrics 20 years ago
i agree with you christsiderider, this is about purity in relationships. it is refering to teenagers when it talks about "the boys and girls that think they always know." teenagers can be so confident in their own strength that they allow themselves to get caught in a bad situation "without a plan." i especially like the lines "How quickly words can become our hands / Resigning everything we believe" - this is talking about how thoughts can suddenly turn into action, and you can go against everything that you know is right.

Thrice – The Melting Point of Wax Lyrics 20 years ago
The myth of Icarus, when I read it, seemed to be a warning. Listen to those around you and know the limits that are in place or you will suffer the consequences.
What I love about this song is that Dustin took a myth that could be used in that somewhat negative way and turned the tables. He put himself in the same situation and said that he would do the same thing - test the limits. very inspiring... nothing should be taken for granted, we should always be in question of the limits that are placed on us.

Incubus – Warning Lyrics 20 years ago
here's what I think the song means (and sorry if I am stealing anyone's idea, but i haven't read all 10 pages)
i've heard a lot about how this song is telling everyone to go out and party or get laid while there is still a chance, but i disagree.
this song starts off talking about "seducing a stranger" and being happy, but I think that the song is saying that these things are shallow, and will lead to a person waking up one day and realizing that their life has passed them by. Which leads us to "When will we learn? When will we change?" We should throw away these shallow practices before we find ourselves boiled alive as we slowly turn the heat up on ourselves.
well, that's just my opinion...
