| GG Allin – Bite It You Scum Lyrics
|
Wow. I haven't seen one intelligent comment here yet.
It is obtuse to consider GG Allin a good musician, but he was undeniably unique and shocking. Whether he tried to shock audiences in hopes of bolstering his meager profits from his "music" or whether he was authentically fucking nuts, is irrelevant. He did wild shit like throw his feces at the audience because he wanted to push the limits. Pure and simple. He hated boundaries and sought to slam right through every one.
Although I have long since fallen out of love with punk rock, this song is still among my favorites. It is an uncomplicated "Fuck you" to "the man" and is very satisfying to listen to. |

When I listen to this song I think of a "punk rawk" girl. Really eager to be completely comfortable and decided in who she is and what she wants out of life. That is a contemporary pop-culture lens to view this song through.
But now that I think of it, a hooker is a likely candidate. |

| Tech N9ne – The Industry Is Punks Lyrics
| 19 years ago

Tech N9ne is easily the most versatile, most unique rapper out there right now. He writes poetic and poignant lyrics with relevance.
This song is simple. The rap industry is full of money-grubbing bitches who don't care about the message or about the music, just the image and the money. |

This song's lyrics are remarkably straighforward though maintain a stunning poetic aesthetic. Although the lyrics hint at alterior "meanings" within the lyrics such as racial and social inequality as well as a general disdain for amerika's justice system, the song's primary focus to to preach the code of ethics that everyone who has to break laws to make a living should follow. |

jackmcleod (sp?), you kick ass.
When i heard the song, i instantly thought that it was about youth changing the future for the better. When i hear "red flag waving" i think of the anarchist red/black flag that's always present among youth anarchist groups at protests. This song is also somewhat criticizing the complacency of todays youth. Nobody cares anymore. When the country and the world is headed down a dark path, nobody really cares, and if they do, they just want to write about it on their backpack and look cool while they "fight the system" nobody has the nuts to actually make a stand and educate themselves and help efforts that rely on youth involvement. |

| Bad Religion – The Empire Strikes First Lyrics

I really like Bad Religion, and i like this song, but i have to criticize. These are the vaguest lyrics ever. It kinda pisses me off to hear that they have dumbed down their lyrics to basically "the USA resembles an empire" For f--k's sake, bring up something genuine and original.
Oh, my opinion on the lyric "but even ten million souls
marching in February couldn't stop the worst" This refers to teh february revolution in Russia, against the russian empire "the worst". I'm not sure if thats right at all. But it sounds generally right. |

Oh, i noticed above you guys were talking about communism. There werent really any opinions voiced about it, but take a look at the fundamental communist ideals. America was fighting equality, workers rights, and a classless society. (The USSR was never a communist country, they were a leftist totalitarian dictatorship, not a reflection of communist ideals) |

Great Song. The meaning is pretty transparent, he falls in love with a stripper, because they are real people, genuine women who are just trying to feed their kids, or pay their way through college. I hate the douchey bible-banging christians who condemn strippers and stripping, If you ask me its cleaner to go to a club and watch a woman dance, than to jerk off in a chatroom with eleven year olds like those bible folks are so likely to do. |

this song is completely fucking great. And MrGuy, why dont YOU shut the fuck up. I heard this song in the Garnier shampoo commercial before i bought the transplants album and heard the full song, and it took me a good long while to get the images of dancing shampoo actresses out of my mind. Selling a song to a commercial definitely changes a lot. the dead kennedys split up over Levi wanting to put their song "holiday in cambodia" in their commercial, Jello wouldnt whore out his music like that. |

| Choking Victim – 500 Channels Lyrics
|
CV and DK were actually what got me thinking about the world in a different way. Along with "Steal This Book"
500 channels is obviously about TV addicted america, but further than that, it is about the gullible minds of the average american, we interpret this fictional Television aura as what "reality" is. In fact, reality is much more gruesome, and there are greedy forces at work to maintain this unjust system. along with every other CV song, it is social commentary on what a boiling pot of excess and hypocrisy america has become. |
