Its about war, particularly world war 2. they also have WW2 clips when they play it live too.
PLus, MIke_81, this not the last Slayer classic.. god hates us all had Disciple and christ illusion has loads more. Bostaph added a new style of drumming for them, which lombardo adapted for the new album. But yes Lombardo is a god. |

I too think this album is a great evolvement of slayer. The lyrics have remained as dark as they were before but now they can be applied to everyday life, which possibly makes them even stronger.
ixequilibriustum i dont see how you can critisise the new lyrics and style. I think Slayer have thoroughly been through the lyrics of hell and satan, this could have led to this album being uncreative and overdone. This did not happen and resulted in a great orignal album.
If you want a sell out band with uninspiring lyrics then stick to Metallica, but dont be so ridiculous as to make a stupid, unjustified comment on a slayer forum. |

Probably the worst song i've ever heard. Especially the ending, classic Metallica.
Gamblor , you have read far too much into the lyrics. Metallica have said that they will no longer be writing meaningful lyrics as they wont make enough money doing that. Metallica also recently commented that the album was released as a joke and that it was recorded in 4 hours in Lars' basement. However, Mercury records decided there were enough fans out there for the album to make millions, and here you all are! |

Probably the most well written metallica song. One of their only songs which has meaningful lyrics, this and a few others. Its about heroin and how much James portrays himself to be an addict when he is really just a cheese ball.
Mistake in the lyrics - Clearly says "Fix me" not "face me". For one, face me doesnt have any relevance whereas "fix me", does. Secondly check out any live recording and he says "fix me". S and M for example.

Justice , Master and Rid e the lightning are good albums, the black was ok but blatently written for money. Like every album that followed.

How can anyone like this song? Metallica is just using the name of a previous song to raise their own popularity and sell out even more than they already have. How could they change from a metal band to this pseudo country and western shit. What respectable metal band writes about things like this? The lyrics are just words anyway, they arent even good. Metallica are a disgrace to metal and music althogether.How could they sue their own fans? its people like all of you who fuel their greed and listen to all their shitty stuff, which makes them more money orientated.
