Eve 6 – Think Twice Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is about the platonic friend, you know who you are if you've been this guy before. It's sung from the perspective of that guy who stands by a girl, does everything he can for her, and she just goes out and makes hte same mistakes day in and day out.

It's about a guy who loves a girl, who loves him back, but not in the way he wanted her to. It's about a guy who would give anything for this girl, but she just goes out and (from his perspective) tosses her love and 'favors' to the wrong guy time and time again.

It's about a guy who's finally lost it. One who's finally given up. One who's finally realized that he's done more than any guy ever would for a girl, one who never truly realized the length he's gone to for this girl. He's warning the other guys that come along, He never outright threatens the new guy, he just tells him not to come around. Why? Because it tears him up inside.

This song isn't about an ex, if it was, the second verse wouldn't be relevant to the song. "Wait til the day you finally see, that I've been waiting here patiently." It's the thing that every guy who's friends with a girl he's in love with thinks when she goes on and on about why she can't meet a guy just like him, and how she doesn't understand why all of these other guys are idcks.

It isn't to say that the guy singing is in the right, his perspective is incredibly skewed. She tells him he's better than any other guy in the world, she tells him she wishes she could find a guy like him. So he's left wondering what it is she wants, and why she won't just have him instead.

This song is the most accurate dipiction of the frustration that a guy goes through when he's too nice to give up on a girl that won't love him back. An accurate depiction of the rage and fury that goes on inside, that never is seen by the girl in question, because he doesn't have the heart to take it out on her, because he doesn't want ot be like all of the other guys out there.

In a way, he's almost warning the new guys, they don't need to think twice because he's going to do something to them, they need to think twice because h'es fully aware of what the girl is capable of, and more importantly, he's almost begging for reprieve from the torture he goes through everytime she dates someone new.

He wishes he could just move on, and just let go, but he can't. His heart just won't let him, even though he knows it's hurting him, and being unfaiir to her.

Eve 6 – At Least We're Dreaming Lyrics 19 years ago
I won't discredit the things said before me, but I can say what this song means to me.

From the get go, this song is about a twenty something, wondering when childhood stops, and adulthood begins. He's discontent with the fact that his life doesn't feel that much different from high school, it's still about things that are so very superficial.

He has no direction in life, he has no idea what's going on. But at least he's still going, and at least he still has his dreams and ambitions. There's still some sort of light at the end of that proverbial tunnel.

The next verse isn't necessarily about a lover, it may just be a friend. One whos' going through similiar difficulties, but handling it in different ways. Where as the singer is keeping to himself, and falling into himself, the one sung about in the second verse goes out and surrounds him or herself in distraction, be it drinking or drug abuse, or rampant tantric sex. At the end of the day, they're both equally disenchanted with life in general.

It's a song about the realization that no matter how old you get, no matter how bad things get, no matter how good things get, there will always be a need for an escape. There'll always be that something more you want. You'll never truely be satisfied.

Finding ones way back home, a desire to go back to the simple life, when there weren't so many questions without answers. So many problems without solutions.

It's about a young adult, and the problems we face. Despeartely searching for someone who can find our answers for us, but realizing that the harder we look, the harder it is to find them.

It's about life with others your age, that share your problems, but don't ever truly understand what's going oin in your life.

This song is what the twenties are. It really is. If it doesn't apply to you, it applies to someone you know, and maybe you're the one that the second verse talks about.

Food for thought.
