| The Traveling Wilburys – Tweeter And The Monkey Man Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I've never heard someone sing a Dylan song better than Dylan. | |
| Electric Light Orchestra – Don't Bring Me Down Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is by far my least favorite ELO song. The whole reason I gravitated towards them was the orchestra, and this song doesn't have any. I think it's their ONLY song without orchestra, but there's a fairly large chance I'm wrong. |

| Electric Light Orchestra – Roll Over Beethoven Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I agree. "Roll Over Beethoven" has more covers than any other song I've ever seen, and this one is by far my favorite. Far better than Chuck Berry's original, in my opinion. :) |

| Bob Dylan – It Ain't Me Babe Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It can be anti-war, a goodbye to folk music's limitations, or as a song about a break up. That's the beauty of it! Dylan writes on so many levels. |

| Bob Dylan – You Ain't Goin' Nowhere Lyrics | 20 years ago |
These are the lyrics to the version on his album "The Basement Tapes" and the Joan Baez/Byrds version. This is the version on Greatest Hits, Vol. 2: Clouds so swift an' rain fallin' in Gonna see a movie called "Gunga Din'' Pack up your money, pull up your tent McGuinn You ain't goin' nowhere. Whoo-ee, ride me high Tomorrow's the day That my bride's a-gonna come Whoo-ee, are we gonna fly Down into the easy chair. Genghis Khan an' his brother Don Could not keep on keepin' on We'll climb that bridge after it's gone After we're way past it. Whoo-ee, ride me high Tomorrow's the day My bride's a-gonna come Whoo-ee, are we gonna fly Down into the easy chair. Buy me some rings an' a gun that sings A flute that toots an' a bee that stings A sky that cries an' a bird that flies A fish that walks an' a dog that talks. Whoo-ee, ride me high Tomorrow's the day That my bride's a-gonna come Whoo-ee, are we gonna fly Down into the easy chair. |

| Bob Dylan – Jack-A-Roe Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Hooray! I love this song! That's why I uploaded it. Seems fairly straightforward. A girl loves a man her father won't let her marry, a sailor. When he gets shipped off to war, she dresses like a man and joins the Navy under the assumed name of Jack-A-Roe. Then she finds him, fixes him up, and they get hitched. I love the way he sings "Oh daughter, oh daughter, your body I will confine". I don't know why, I just like the way he sings it. :) |

| Neil Young – Southern Man Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Also, our country's history is a very hateful and bigoted one, on both sides of the Mason-Dixon line. There are repeated examples throughout American History: Slavery of Africans, of course. Slaughter of the Native Indians. Anti-Jewish, German, Italian, Irish, Eastern European, Mexican, Japanese, and Chinese immigration laws. Slaughter of the Native Indians. Japanese Citizens being forced to relocate to internment camps during WWII. Slaughter of the Native Indians. Segregated Asian/White schools in California. A nearly complete genocide of the Native Indians. I'd say the Indians have had it worse off than blacks, actually. Every group who came here to colonize (French, Spanish, English, et cetera) helped destroy the Indians. And i continued for another 400 some odd years. Blacks were recognized as U.S. citizens before Indians, after all. |

| Neil Young – Southern Man Lyrics | 20 years ago |
The "Confederate Flag" was originally a battle flag, used very little during the actual Civil War. It did not start out as a symbol of hate, but it has become one. The swastika is actually a thousands-of-years-old symbol shared by the hindus and the buddhists, and it means good luck to them. Unfortunately, Hitler needed a symbol to rally his cause behind, and he chose the swastika, and turned it into a sybol of hatred. The Ku Klux Klan, through their use of the confederate batle flag, has done the same thing. Whether Southerners like it or not, the Confederate flag has now become assosciated with racism and bigotry. |

| Barenaked Ladies – Shopping Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This is the ONLY song that I've gotten the meaning out of the FIRST time I heard it. It's about consumerism and pretending like everything is okay while you drown your sorrows in material possesions. |
| Barenaked Ladies – Pinch Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |

neko-chan! I went to the same concert! Tampa FL, New Year's Eve! Or the same thing happened at two places. |

| Barenaked Ladies – Upside Down Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The actually Warhol quote is "In the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes" | |
| Danny Elfman – Remains of the Day Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Does that voice sound familiar? Sound like a certain Pumpkin King we all know and love? Danny Elfman actually sings this song himself. |
| Barenaked Ladies – Some Fantastic Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The "Ivory and Ivory" parenthetical is a play on Paul McCartney's and Stevie Wonder's "Ebony and Ivory", I assume. | |
| Barenaked Ladies – If I Had A $1000000 Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Went to a BNL New Years Concert last night, and this song is awesome live, I gotta tell you. | |
| George Harrison – Zig Zag Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I love this song. And I learned all of the words after one listening. :-) |
| Bob Dylan – Absolutely Sweet Marie Lyrics | 20 years ago |
"Well, your railroad gate, you know I just can't jump it Sometimes it gets so hard, you see I'm just sitting here beating on my trumpet" Sounds like she shuts him out (physically?), so he's forced to take care of his own, uh, "needs". Beating on my trumpet? Seems fairly obvoius to me. ;-) |

| Electric Light Orchestra – Don't Bring Me Down Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I never knew this was ELO until I recognized the voice. The lack of orchestral instruments really threw me off. |
| Electric Light Orchestra – Mr. Blue Sky Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I love this song. Can you tell? Always makes me happy. It is physically impossible to be upset while listening to this song. |
| Led Zeppelin – Roll Over Beethoven (Chuck Berry cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Apparently, everyone's done a cover of this song. But it was Chuck Berry, originally. The Electric Light Orchestra's version is the best, in my opinion. |
| George Harrison – Brainwashed Lyrics | 20 years ago |

the lyrics at the end are Hindu, I assume. They are as follows: Namah Parvarti Pataye Hare Hare Mahadev Namah Parvarti Pataye Hare Hare Namah Parvarti Pataye Hare Hare Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva Hare Hare Hare Hare Mahadeva Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva Namah Parvarti Pataye Hare Hare Namah Parvarti Pataye Hare Hare Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva |
