The Beatles – I Am the Walrus Lyrics 20 years ago
okay I can give you some history on this one. Lennon was going through a small heroin phase (he was the only Beatle that did and he only ever smoked it) and lying on his old childhood couch for days and already had the lyrics "I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together" typed. He then heard a police or ambulance siren go past his house which was the inspiration to the opening instrumental bars. He then wrote the rest there and then and yes it was all "gobble-de-gook".

On the inside cover under the title it says "No you're not said little Nicola" which was meant to suggest that it was Paul (later confirmed in the lyrics of "Glass Onion"). But it couldn't be a Paul-Is-Dead clue because there is no proof that the walrus died in the film Magical Mystery Tour.

The Beatles – Commonwealth Lyrics 20 years ago
they were just muckin' around, making up words on the spot. Probably a little drunk. They also sing about going to Pakistan to play a cricket match. It's all mumbo jumbo and never commercially released or even properly recorded. They were just jamming and probably bored, tired and stoned.

Snow Patrol – Run Lyrics 20 years ago
Just joined this site as I was searching for the meaning of Run by Snow Patrol and found over a year's worth of comments. Don't know how to pick up where it was but just wanted to say the lyrics hit home to me recently after a family member died. I wept and it all made sense although lyrics like this can be interpreted many ways (the evidence is here!). You could even go one step further and say that he is talking to someone already passed away as opposed to dying OR even one step further still and the singer IS the dead person trying to communicate to his still-alive partner.
