YA just wanted to clear everything up about this song. The song was inspired by Joyce Carol Oates story '"Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?"...BUT this was inspired by the life of the murderer Charles Schmid. I suppose they called him Denver Max in the song due to legal reasons (unless thats the Oates characters name). Schmid died in prison for murdering his girlfriend who he was infatuated with and her sister, along with a younger girl he'd felt like killing earlier. He buried them in the desert and had no remorse. ANYWAY the screendoor part refers to him seducing both the girlfriend he killed and the character in the novel. Awesome awesome song |

OMG the video clip is awesome, this kid is a fantastic actor and so is the crazy father figure, brilliant brilliant clip. ANYHOO I can see a definite relation musically and lyrically to 'Because I Want You' but as commented this is by far better in depth and its just a more polished sound and clearer idea.
I agree, the clip involved a child supporting his father who had done drugs or some such and in the end the kid just had to give the father aware for his own sake. So im my opinion its sung from the supporter of a druga abuser who just can't help anymore. and the lucky sevens refers to the singer thinking that the abuser had a lucky and carefree life (seven is a lucky number). |

OMG my fav song ever, my names from it SEE. For me it's in the same vein as Commercial For Levi in its emphasis on destructive relationships which have occured in the past. I think everythings been pretty much said about it so I'll leave you with saying that it's one of the best in my opinion, though I had to grow to love it. |

For me its about a lover who's been left behind and still holds a candle to her lover, even though its obviously futile ("sing for your lover like blood from a stone"). I agree, i think it's about straightlaced people becoming corrupt behind other's backs. Molko singing "I never wanted the real thing" makes me think the prostitution and character faking references are def in there. i think abuse of a relationship come sout in the line "save the best for later be careful not to stain the sheets now

Okay, i totally think this song is all about a person trying to turn a relationship form lust to love...it depends hwo you take the 'i do' lyric. Its obviously based round a relationship, whether its recirpocal love involved is another story!.
"I wanna fall in love with you,
I wanna say I do."
That could either mean that he's totally infatuated with her and that he wants to marry her (he wants to say I do) and reciprocate feelings. OR. it could mean that he doesn't really feel that way, but he wants to fall in love with her, as opposed to having shallow lustful feelings. Thats how I take it lol but feel free to correct my theory. The main lyric which makes me think the relationship is a lustful or superficial one is "I’ll kick back and flirt with you,
