| Interpol – Evil Lyrics | 20 years ago |

For some reason, I thought this song was about angels or something of the sort who were supposed to come collect the souls of those who have died and the puppet says to Sandy (his co-worker) why can't we look the other way? basically, can't we let this one live? and at the beginning: Rosemary, Heaven restores you in life You're coming with me Through the aging, the fearing, the strife I thought maybe Rosemary was the one who they were supposed to take with them and he was talking to her. What a strange interpretation, I know. |

| Rage Against the Machine – Fuck Tha Police (NWA cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I would like to bring to attention the intro to this song: "We want to just quickly send a nice friendly message to the uh, Fraternal Order of Police in Philadelphia." I dont know if anyone knows about this, but they performed this song at a concert in New Jersey. The reference to Philadelphia is associated with the case of Mumia Abu-Jamal. I wish I could remember the entire story but the official Rage website has some great information, or links to it anyway. www.ratm.com Go check it out. Click on ACTION and there's a nice page with the quote that I'm assuming Zach spoke right before this song. And everyone who reads this do me a favor and go read about Mumia. If you're anything like me and you like your rights, then it will probably make you pretty mad. Maybe soon we'll have a new civil rights leader. We could use a good one. There is still hatred and suppression in this country...but then you already knew that because you listen to Rage. | |
| Rage Against the Machine – Roll Right Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I love Rage and I know their music deserves a better commentary than the one I am about to provide, but here goes anyway: I love this song. Sometimes I used to go on GTA rampages and take the drugs that slow everything down and then start this song while I shoot everyone. I know that probably wouldnt make Zach proud, but at least I got part of the message right? GET MAD! but they probably wanted me to get mad at the government. anyway, Im ranting again. |

| Rage Against the Machine – Settle For Nothing Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I would like to point out that I think when he keeps repeating the last four lines: "If we don't take action now We settle for nothing later We'll settle for nothing now And we'll settle for nothing later" ...I think the first two lines mean that if we don't do something about the problems in our society, then we'll just take them for a given later. But the second two lines are saying that we should settle for nothing, as in no settling, but instead taking what we want, our freedom. I'm not sure if any of that made sense. Hope so though. |
