| Underoath – Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| he's talking about how he's undeserving of such a love, of forgiveness, of grace, of life. its only when we realize this can anyone come to christ, so after finally realizing this the person feels like he's ready to accept Christ into his life. in a way it is suicide, because when you come to Christ to end up dying to yourself, and allowing Christ to live thourgh you. this is an amazing song. to me the whole song is singing from God's persepctive, except the lines that says that he want to come home. to him, home is in Christ's loving arms, and just simply being with him for eternity in heaven. | |
| As I Lay Dying – Forever Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| the ability to not understand is Tim's inability to understand how can such a perfect and Hold God continue to love such an undeserving person. Truth is that we're all undeserving, thats why its called grace. Our human emotions and reasoning can not comprehend the depth of God's love for all of us. I believe this is just another testimony that Tim is dying to share with everyone who has time to listen to what he and his band has to say. I think another amazing hardcore christian band is mortal treason. this band continues to blow me away with how moving their lyrics are, and i can see a lot of people can agree on the strong emotions found in these lyrics. the only reason i can say is because this band is screaming truth. | |

| As I Lay Dying – Song 10 Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| yea a relationship, just like the relationship God wants to have with each of us, but so many times we turn and refuse His grace. | |
| As I Lay Dying – Losing Sight Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| you guys are right on the money, but to me the last line is a refrence to his faith. "can we die to live another day" meaning we "die" to our selfish desires by letting it go and allowing christ to guide even our desires. this act of losing yourself is a sense of dying to your own selfishness and allowing Christ to live through you. | |
| As I Lay Dying – 94 Hours Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
yesa, i'm pretty sure its about Christ considering they're a pretty hardcore Christian band. 94 hours of regret, just an artistic way to express his guilt and how long his conviction was just tormenting him. to me, it seems like he's been so blown away by just the realization of who God is itss also allowed him to realize how set apart he is from something so pure and Holy. (unfading beauty)i very convicting words. intense group of guys. |

| Thrice – Of Dust And Nations Lyrics | 20 years ago |

i'm not adding to the point that Thrice sings about the bible, but i can tell you that even though there are christian and biblical references on their new cd and on this song, Dustin clearly took inspiration from the bible and saw what God spoke to him, and from one of his favorite christian authors, C.S. Lewis. i wouldnt say he's singing about the bible cuz that just sounds corny, simply he took it as inspiration, and decided to share what he took from reading it. the way he presents it is a subtle one, cuz they wouldnt want to turn away non christians, but for those who are christians, can pick out the meaning behind these songs. my two cents |

ok, yea i dont want to make it seem like i'm saying thrice is a christian band or not, you guys make it sound like its a bad thing to label a band christian. to me it doesnt matter, but since the writer of the song and 2 other members are christians, i'm seeing how they might have drawn inspiration to write this particualar song and possibly what it might mean to them. the last post was just an opinion of what i think and the things that i was able to find. i dont mean to degrade them if i made it sounded like i labeled them as a christian band. i dont understand why someone would be offended if someone did call them a christian band, if you cant respect someone's choice and respect their opinion then i dont see the point for signing on a forum that discusses different points of view. well, this i hope this is a better explanation of why i wrote the things i did. peace! |

| Thrice – The Red Death Lyrics | 20 years ago |

yea, thrice may not be a christian band but 3 out of 4 of the members are believers. so this song in particular can pertain to their faith, i see it as an artistic approach to describe the end of days. we can all live on this earth thinking we're safe, we're content, we're fine, but in the end it all comes down to the power of the creator, and just like how adam and eve were trying to hide in the garden, God still found them."masqueaade and revel in your opulence" this can easily describe how the hypocrits, the christians who say they are but their actions definelty show something else. they too will face God's judgement and wrath, just because we come and admit christ is our savior doesnt guarantee the best possible after life, cuz God rewards us with what we're done in our life too. so we can pretend we're christians by putting up a "christian mask" wether we're at church or just hanging with other christian friends. if its not the real us, then if you fear God then something's gotta change. "you looked so suprise to see me hear" christians do their best to share the good news, but sometimes God's word isnt always pleasing to hear, because the truth can sometimes cut like a double edge sword, and this causes conviction in our hearts. he also warns us of what's to come so dont be too surprise when at the end you've heard all of this, but you chose to turn your back and not follow Christ. the last line may seem to contradict anything from the christian doctirine, but really it full fills the promise that Christ made before he rose up to the heavens, is that he will come back, and its going to be both glorious and scarey, the death he brings is going to be the final death we'll all face, by then if we chose not follow him, he respects that choice and we are seperated from him (hell). for the ones who have made the right decision in choosing to follow him, then we're made new into warriors of christ, our bodies will burn but we will not perish, and we wil be able to spread God's authority over the lands of this earth. overwhelmed? i know i was when i first heard this song. it might seem scarey, but its the respectful fear that you should be realizing, becuase God is a god of balance, so you cant forget his merciful and compassionate side as well. we fear him, out of respect. yea, thrice may not be a christian band, but a lot of their lyrics can point that some of the memebers believe in the existence of a mighty God. not all christians band produce worship music, although some of thrice's songs may be their own personal act of worship. if you think they have a lot of screaming then you should check out Mortal Treason, they're the christian metal band that blew me away. i was in awe when i heard seth kimbrough scream in all the songs he wrote. worship to God may not always seem pleasing, because at times we're broken, and we have to bring that before God and just ask for him to mend that brokeness. thrice does an excellent job at showing that there is power and hope in being humble and meak. thrice rocks, and God is good! |

| Thrice – Between the End and Where We Lie Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this song definetly depicts the spiritual warfare that dustin faces on a daily basis, just like many christians do. we all must choose to follow christ, and by making that decision we have to willingly die to our wants and dreams. its not about what we want but about what God has in store for us, and sicne God is our father, our father does know whats best. so he we have to have faith in trusting God to pull us through. we are lost on our own, but God will defiently guide us all back on the right track, but only if we're willing. "i've heard that there is one that leads to the sunlite lands where" this brings forth the promise of a heaven, made by God and is offereed to all through the blood of his Son. this brings forth hope that the band is so desperately trying make known throught their new cd, Vheissu. | |

i love this song. i listen to this song to strengthen my walk with the Lord. the title-image of the invidible describes how christians are called/labled as people who represent the very God they serve. this does not necissarily mean that i think christians are any better, i totally go against that because God created us all as equals with equal chances to get to know him, and to share the truth. we're more than carbon and chemicals - we may just be humans now, but our spirits will live on for eternity. free will is ours, we cant's let go - God loves us so much he gives us life with free will, we choose to follow and ober him, or we choose to turn from him, and no one will take that right from us. we can't allow this, the quiet cull - this pertains to my personal calling, i can't ignore it, i see how much pain every person suffer. it may be silent, because most people hide their wounds, you cant hide from God and he knows every thought and everything you go throuhg, so for me, i cant see you keep going through things alone. so we sing out this, our canticle - the actual song that thrice wrote, they sing this to reach out and give hope to those who have none we are all lost, now we are found - no one is born as a christian, we are all born lost to the truth and we have to discover truth ourselves, but we are found again when Christ came and redeemed all those who are lost, we are blind, but now we see. no one can stop us, or slow us down - we dont walk alone, God promised each one of us that he'll be with us through the end of time. he sealed that convenant with the blood of his son, and it isnt in God's nature to ever break those convenants. so when God is with us we have nothing to lose of be afraid of. we are all named and we are all known - God knows us, simple as that. he knows every single detail, he knows things about you, you yourself dont even know yet. we know that we'll never walk alone - again refer back to the covenant God made to us. we're more than static and dial tone - God created our spirits to do marvelous things, we do not yet know it yet because we're not spiritually matured yet to take on what God has prepared for us. we're worth more than what this world could ever offer. God made us worthy. we're emblematic of the unknown - God is unknown to many people, which is why its such a heavy burden on those who do know him, its our job to show who God is through everything we do or say. we're here to show to the world who our God is. not saying we are God our selves, but we do our job to emulate his characteristics, here to provide just a glimpse of who he is. raise the banner, bend back your bows - we have to stand firm in what we believe, a christian life is a sacrificial life, of constant death to our desires and wants. so this is a spiritual warfare we all must face. but we dont fight alone, so be confident in believing in God, because he promises us victory. though all the world may hate us, we are named though shadow overtake us, we are known - christians are hated, they were promised to be hated, but do not fear the ridicule we must face because God promises us rest and judgement on those who persecute. God knows how badly we hurt, and how badly we hurt others. vengence is mine sayeth the Lord. so let all the trials come, in order for God to build perseverance in us and to strength our relationship with him. remember i dont mean to make me and other christians look like we're better than everyone else, though at times many christians might act or think they are. truth is that we're not. so yea, this song definetly describes the life of a christian and how we have hope in holding firm to our faith in the almighty. thrice rocks, and God is good! |

| Thrice – Kill Me Quickly Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| oh on the side note, he needs her to go with him because he's affraid to face the unknown, if dustin is a christian then he knows that he'll face judgement and he'll know that suicide is a sin, so he'll be in hell, but it wont matter to him as long as he's not there alone, he'll be with the one he loves which is all that matters to him in this song. | |
| Thrice – Kill Me Quickly Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| i'm not saying anyone is wrong, but if you take the song literally, then its just about suicided. hince the title, kill me quickly. dustin goes ahead and expresses how much he's tired of fighting, how sick he is of hurting the one he loves most, and just wants to take the easy way out. towards the end, and towards the end of any relationship, dustin shows how much the loved one means to him, how in the midst of all the fighting he realizes deep down how much he still needs her, and how he needs the promise that someday it will all be over, and needs the reassurance of staying together for eternity. | |
