I would assume that it's about drugs or alcohol. They can cause teenagers to kill themselves. The teenager relies on the drugs to "be there" or maybe someone else who is on drugs said they would be there, but they weren't. The ghost is something that is invisible, but still in the heart. I agree with Diana Louise COMPLETELY. Let freedom ring probably means either she is free, or justice has been served. Like the churchbells and the choir that never made a sound may reference that it is to no effect, because you'll never make it alive. Whatever it means, the jist of the song is exactly this "What matters most is how well you walk through the fire Burning in water, and drowning in flames" She did something wrong and must accept the consequences. There' no getting out of it (will not overcome=no one will forget), so just pray that you will make it through with dignity after the stones have been thrown. |

Looks like Cahssie nailed this one on the head. It's a beautiful promiscuous girl... *Note: As I'm going through these songs I've noticed three redundances: The word "War", Some songs literally make no sense (even to Drew), and they're almost all about a breakup, or a girl he can't have (due to death, promiscuity, etc). Don't get me wrong... I love these guys... but they're a little redundant. |

He uses the word WAR a lot and almost always says "____ means ___" or "what does that mean" in his lyrics. I think the first verse is saying: Someone has died and whatever it is that the person died from is contageous. Drugs? Age? Conformity? Apparently the person truly died, because he's heartbroken: "How does this fit into God's plan?" The second verse sounds like a controlling person. Bully? Abusive father? Etc... |

Italian is probably right... It's like a guy who's withering away from being important to his girlfriend. He tries to get over her and gets a new girl. As he's explaining the new girl, he finds that he is still in love with the girl he's talking to... but he's still wasting away. I assuming the light is a revelation. They are revealing that they no long love each other? Not too sure. She's performed some sin with her mouth.
