When you're on the verge of suicide after realizing that your life has been going nowhere ("I found the road to nowhere," "Sad eyes followed me,") you call out God (God as in God, not . . . necessarily the Christian God) and tell him that during your life you've fought so hard but you can't take it anymore and are reduced to one last moment of life ("I yelled back when I heard thunder and I'm down to one last breath.") and in that last moment you look back at your life. In the end, before actually going on with it, you decide that no matter how much time you have left, it's not so bad. Basically about contemplating suicide but then deciding not to go on with it. |

I thought this song was about death, or a better way to put it, it's a song about new beginnings. Although it's mostly downbeat (in lyric terms strictly), the message it carries seems positive. After an end comes a beginning. "It will end with birth." Maybe it's me but it sounds . . . apocalyptic in a way. Reminds me a lot of the movie "The End of Evangelion". |
